mine arrived today. they marked the value as £11 for the 2 cards so no customs problems

so you paid £25 for something and that included free shipping, and they just listed £25 on the envelope, with no shipping value? I suppose at that price it's well over the £15 threshold. for things near it they could mark down the value by £2 or £3 and list that separately as P&P so the goods are under the £15
I'd be a bit annoyed if I had extra charges for the sake of £1 over the limit. I would have just got the one card instead. even though they may refund it's still a load of hassle and delays for the sake of a pound. hopefully it won't come to that but it's a lesson learned for the next time

The envelope was marked as a cost of £25, so I had to pay £8 vat and a £5 fee. As I say though, mymemory refunded this very quickly and with no fuss once I sent them an image of the receipt. Good customer service can sometimes be hard to find, but not here.

Or you could get 64GB for £15 and save a £1? If you want just the one memory card?
One word to the wise. I bought from these people recently. The card was
shipped from Switzerland, and I got caught with import taxes. mymemory did refund the charges quickly and with no fuss, but I did have to pay first.

i didn't even think of this. did they show the full price you paid on the envelope, but didn't split the cost of goods and cost of shipping, even if you didn't pay for shipping? as if they listed the goods at £15 and then £1 for shipping that's under the threshold, but list it at £16 with no shipping and it's over. some companies split that way even if you just paid a "free delivery" price as the shipping does have a cost that they could list seperately. how much was the item you bought btw?
the worst of the VAT issue is the £8 or so that royal mail add, as the VAT itself for lower cost items can be just £1 or so. i don't mind paying the VAT on low cost items but not the £8
