Thanks for making me check out details with them in store - they did not know differences so I checked further. There are 2 almost identical versions being sold with exactly the same title "Lenovo TAB3 7 Essential". The Model:TB3-710F is the one with only a memory card slot. The model: TB3-710I is the one that also has a Microsimcard slot right next to the memory card slot. They do not currently hold stock for the I version of it but did not seem to realise there was 2 versions that look and are called the same thing. Its kind of ok for me as I have tethering and Mifi options, but pretty annoying if you just want it all in one item.

hutchi03 ...just checked my account. Yep it definitely took £25 off a £50.95 spend.

Ok, thanks. I'm surprised as I recently got a £20 off when spend £50+, however it only worked for full priced items only and not sale items.

Another slightly different option is the Lenovo Tab 3 7inch Essential Tablet, on sale in john Lewis at the moment £49.99 very similar but it has inbuilt GPS and you can add a micro? simcard for internet on the go I think. Link for it was posted by someone in one of the other tablet deal replies.

The John Lewis one with GPS does not accept a SIM card, no 3G there.

Got mine for £23.99 from Very as they kindly sent a £25 off a £50 spend. Added a ring sizing tape measure to bring it up to £50. I think the code may be account specific but theres £20 off a £40 spend for new customers if it helps. KXVJX

Did you receive the £25 off when spend £50 code on a postcard in the mail or did you get the code via email? If it was sent through mail, when did you receive and when does it expire? Thanks

Hi I posted this because I was thinking of buying it for my grandson but don't know very much about tablet, however based on the feedback these seems to do the job.
I was in fact looking for a lap top for myself ...Internet, email, writing reports and family research, watching tv occasionally ....if anyone can suggest something for up to £400 I would be very grateful
Thanks jane

As you have a reasonable budget (£400), you're best off going to PC World/Currys or John Lewis and seeing what catches your eye - as the stuff you want to do isn't hugely demanding so it will come down to personal preference really (e.g. Design, screen size, brand)

Try Dell Outlet, they have some good deals. Just got a 17" FHD i5 for £440, but they had smaller ones cheaper.

Which is the better one, the one in Argos or JL?

Had one of these, loaded it with free Amazon apps - the whole tablet turned into a slug and really struggled to do anything. Sent it back. Argos eBay probably got one of my returns being sold

Yes, I got one for my daughter from the argos deal. But am not so sure if it's worth the £50. it's basic and good for minecraft  like someone said. She is very pleased with it!

The £40 Argos one was a refurb wasn't it?
Decent tablet for the kids (or very light activity) but 1gb RAM, a slightly pixely display and low end processor means I wouldn't buy one for myself.
