Not as good as the recent deal from Motorola, however i believe this is the cheapest available at the moment, it's on their deal of the day, so it's only on for 24 hour's
Do you know the difference between SD625 and the SD650? SD625 is a mid-range CPU. It belongs to the SD615>>SD616>>SD617>>SD625 family CPU. The SD650 in the Xiaomi Note Pro 3 is a newer CPU. SD800(2013 flagship CPU)>>SD801(2014)>>SD808-SD810(2015)>>SD650>>SD820-SD821(2016)>>SD835(2017). The SD650 fits inbetween 2015 and 2016 flagship CPU, it's a powerful CPU.

Xiaomi Redmi Note Pro 4 isn't much of an upgrade to the Redmi Note Pro 3. It has an inferior camera as well. Give me a Qualcomm SD over Mediatek everyday of the week.

hence why buying with Amazon is sadly better (I wished they paid their bloody taxes) customer service is optimal.

noted your objection, we have all been faced with customer services attempting to avoid abiding by their legal duties.
the idea of a special, different region is a myth that is used to turn away 80% of inquiries.
you sadly need to insist and quote the legal text otherwise they try to get out of it.
I pity anyone who does have to deal with Motorola customer 'service' as it is abysmal.

How does this compare to the Lenovo ZUK Z2 which I have just ordered for 130 delivered from China? I know this has a usable warranty whereas the Z2 doesn't, effectively, but there's a 146 quid price difference!

The cheaper Z2 is better in these aspects - much better CPU, double the internal storage, 1Gb more RAM, larger battery, better screen pixel density, probably better sound & possibly better front camera.
This is better in the following aspects - larger screen, MicroSD slot, NFC & probably better main camera.
It doesn't compare, your Lenovo ZUK Z2 is the better phone. SD820 (2016 flagship CPU) vs SD625 (mid-range CPU). Your Lenono ZUK Z2 represents great value.
Sorry, you're right. Don't know why I saw it as 3000 mAH - probably from another phone I was comparing with at the same time.

Unfortunately, that is not how warranty works. UK is considered a different region for warranty purposes, even if it is part of the single market. You will always find on the terms and conditions that warranty is specific to the region it was purchased from and hence UK is considered separate to the EU.
This is the same with other manufacturers as well such as Microsoft, One Plus, Lenovo and so on.
However, as you said since this is from Amazon Germany, i am not sure if this will be covered by them along with the return postage etc to/from Germany and Amazon UK would not acknowledge warranty returns for purchases made in the EU.

Actually, the Moto Z has a ever so slightly bigger battery but probably less battery life due to the bigger screen. Still happy with my purchase for the price paid. I'll take a risk on the lack of warranty given the fact in all my years of owning mobiles (many many of them!) i've never had any hint of a problem in the first 12 months anyway. I've added heat as it is the best price on the market.

UK will still be in the EU until almost April 2019. hence you will be covered, no matter what anyone says as this is European legislation.
However you are buying from Amazon, if anything goes wrong within 12 months you will need to return to Amazon for refund/replace as you would do with Amazon UK.
Hence you would not have to deal with Motorola customer.er service at any point. One of the main reason to buy from Amazon. Different country, same rules.

Does this have any warranty as its an EU model? I thought Motorola warranty was very regions specific and UK was considered separate from EU for these warranties.

I thought legally (for now) eu warranties have to be honoured in UK. I might be wrong though, not really looked into it.

Lenovo own Motorola, so there will be some similarities. They have the same processor, I think this has a bigger screen and better camera. Personally I think this is the better phone, but for you it might not be worth the extra £80.

This 2-year guarantee is your minimum right. National rules in your country may give you extra protection: however, any deviation from EU rules must always be in the consumer's best interest.
If goods you bought anywhere in the EU turn out to be faulty or do not look or work as advertised, the seller must repair or replace them free of charge or give you a price reduction or a full refund."
