RRP 29.99 ??? They must think we're stitched up the back.
So with this you need to charge it after youve charged your phone once? If it works at all. Hardly a power 'bank'.
Dont waste your time, buy right and get a proper powerbank from somebody like Aker, EasyAcc or my favourite at the moment Xiaomi. For maybe only 2.5 to 3x the price, depending on the capacity.

i bought this a few months ago. it ships with a short type-A full size to micro USB cable. it also has a micro USB ended cable built into it. It does not have a type C cable, it's also a USB 2 port so will not support rapid charging that a USB C cable might be used for, you need the additional pins of USB 3 port for that.

This is presumably so you can have the Micro SD Card from your Phone read off via it?.
But according to later comments (after your initial one), the Micro SD part of this cannot be actioned/activated directly via the Device itself!, it needed to be directly connected via its USB Port to a USB 'Source' instead? (eg. Laptop, PC, Tablet, and what have you's?).
So yeah, there you go ..... :-)

Seems that the card support turns it into a very limited card reader, if you decided to slowly charge it via a computer's USB ports. For me, it's more of a marketing gimmick than anything that adds useful functionality to the device.
Good price, though. Probably better off spending a little more on one that supplies more than a measly 1A. That output will take an absolute age to charge a decent smartphone, if it all. Some won't even fill up the battery on 1A.

Does anyone with one of these know the thickness of it? Specifically, is it thicker than a CD jewel case (9.9mm)? I want a backup for in the car, but it will need to sit in a CD holder.

I got this when they did a deal on the white one. 5000mah for £5 as well.
The micro SD card is only supported when connected via USB to a computer, it's not capable of being read from the micro USB to a phone as it clearly doesn't have a link or support otg.
However it's handy to keep a micro SD and an external battery together for me when I'm on my tablet. I'd definitely buy another one. The USB is 1A out, which while limited is still useful in an emergency and the build quality is very nice.

I bought two of these a few months ago. The same price with this one. I thought I have got a good quality Power bank due to the name Vodafone attached to this. Well, I was wrong. It is not any better then few power banks I bought from eBay. After several charging and discharging I beleiev no more than 10 times they will not be able to charge my phone in full anymore, although my phone is only around 3000mAH.
I wanted to here anyone else opinion ho have tried this Powerbank.

I remember when this deal first came about in the entrepreneurs were buying them in vast number, I wonder how much profit was made. Since then this is the second time this deal has come back.
Anyway for my own perspective, I think they are very pleasing devices for a fiver. Actually for slipping in a bag or a pocket the flat a lighter weight design is more preferable than the ones based on tubular batteries. For some reason when I charge Bluetooth headsets or other small devices, this charge only charges to 80% before switching off. I don't mind this as it preserves the life of my Bluetooth headsets.

Does the card reader work with both the integrated micro USB, and the 'normal' port? This could be really useful, for example to watch a movie, stored on a microSD on your phone, and get extra power while watching!
Then I would want to use the normal port to copy the movie on to the MicroSD.

When EE were offering the £20 vouchers when they "bought back" the faulty EE power bars I bought one of these. It actually pretty good and well worth £5 of anyones money. Has built in micro usb cable, or plug in whatever USB cable you need (i.e. lightning or usbc). Small enough to keep in a pocket/bag for a modest power boost...

Energy transfer involves losses so if you transfer 1.2 Ah (don't forget the h; A and Ah are different units) from one battery, you're getting less than 1.2 Ah in other battery. I'd guess 0.9 Ah but I'm unsure.

I have a few of these and they are fine. The mAh ratings of these things always seem to be overstated, but it gives a decent charge for me. Surely all the people complaining about how its charge is not enough for modern devices are missing the point - it's just about how big a battery you want to carry about. They all have similar cells in them - you can get a small 2600mah battery, or a huge 20000mah battery. You could even carry about a car battery with a 5v converter if you wanted - it's just a question of the application you need it for. This one has been fine for me, and is a bargain at the price. The card reader is a bit of a gimmick, but it works, and could prove itself useful.

I've got both, a white one of these for a fiver and also a large Anker one that'll do about 4 or 5 full charges. It's really what you want it for, if your out all day with your mates and don't want to run out of battery, then these are perfect. If your away at a festival or the like for a weekend then the larger Anker style is better, but those are really practical for going out for a pint, they're way too heavy.
