Love this film and thought this was a proper bargain.
"I'll say this, John. They sure as **** broke the mold with you."

They did, but bear-cam footage is inadmissible under Academy rules.

I guess the people who gave Suicide Squad the Oscar for that reason didn't see the Wolf of Wall Street

If I may put forward the a lady's opinion... I thought the first one was mindless (yes I know that's the point) but fundamentally flawed in that they made too much of the idea of avenging the dog's death. The second one is better because there was very little attempt to justify the action. They just killed each other for the hell of it. This made it much more acceptable for me because it was so unashamedly stupid. I reluctantly followed my husband into the cinema with very low expectations but, in the end, it was quite a fun film. If they had tried to make it realistic or attempted to justify the killing, it might have been offensive.
But I won't be buying number one.

I tried watching this the other night after my brother suggested it.
I got roughly an hour in and gave up. It was full of poor fight scenes and bad acting from Reeves.

Yeah cos when they raid his house and kicks ass it is rubbish. It's comic book action not krav maga street realism.

He's never been a good actor. The fighting in most action films is totally unrealistic anyway.

Well, the dog did have extra meaning for him because of the circumstances by which he came to own it - and they stole his prized car as well, don't forget.
Great film with a great sequel, already looking forward to the third one!

Avenging a dog's death? I'm pretty sure Wick is doing more than that.

There's bits during the fight scenes that the actors are standing about waiting to be punched, kicked or shot.
I can't remember which bit in the film I gave up. May of been the nightclub, I remember it was a little while after some hot tub scene and some massive guy.
Reeves is straddling some guy after flooring him. The guy has his arms up blocking his face for a good 10 seconds. Reeves is defending blows left and right, floors these 2 other guys. Looks down to the guy pinned under him and punches him, knocking him out.
Realistically, the guy would've struggled to get free while Reeves was busy fighting the other bad guys.
I noticed a few of these waiting actors that I lost interest.
