They are clear but it seems open to abuse. For instance you could feed all the homeless people in the area assuming you were buying something expensive in the store. Homeless charities could take homeless people, feed them; buy something to cover the cost of the meal and sell the item afterwards. Thereby overall not costing them much to provide food and drink.

It is interesting they haven't put a limit on restaurant spend in the T&Cs.

Child: I want to have my party in McDs
Parents: No we are taking you and your friends to Ikea. We need to buy a new bed, mattress and wardrobes. Don't worry you can all still have fries and dessert

I wonder what they class as a meal? I mean you could turn it into a mega feast if you buy everything you wany in one go. Unless they really mean 1 starter, 1 main, 1 side, 1 dessert, a drink and a coffee/tea/hot chocolate.

Otherwise a good way to feed your family. As long as you are buying something costing a few pounds in store.

I agree and I expect the restaurants will refuse the sale if you attempt to purchase vast amounts which are obviously not going to be consumed there and then. A published transaction/person limit would have at least made things easier for staff!

What a great idea, mark the catalogue codes, get all the kids and other half together and a friend/s, buy them all dinner at IKEA and you go shopping whilst they eat, get discount and get everyone to go home. Not a bad way to entertain all mid week one evening & you get your IKEA purchases (and a hot dog on the way home lol). Not that I would do the 120 miles round trip but handy for those with a Ikea closer. Heat.

I can't work this one out. I can see this is for one person on one visit and you need to use your family card. However what I can't see is how many people can eat on the same card. For instance, and I actually do need furniture from Ikea and was going to go along tomorrow to get it. If all four of our family ate on the one family card will they discount the furniture by the cost of all four of us or is it only one persons meal?

Some confirmations already on this thread. I was the same as you at first but read a few things such as someone got £30 off the other evening which is all I needed to hear. Going to feed a family of 5 there soon with desserts  we needed ikea anyway. This is a bonus

Yep, I'm rather wondering about taking freezer boxes into the store and boxing the food. Never went to Ikea with any bag/backpack and don't know if they ask you to leave it in a locker. But yes, I have an Ikea visit planned anyway, and if it means I could get a few salmon or beef dishes for free while doing so then why not.

Worked for us last night. Took my parents so a total of 4 adults and 3 kids who had adult meals! Puddings, drinks, biscuits everything. The lady at the till even told us about the offer. As someone else said, I wasn't brave enough to buy alcohol but next time I would! We got a pack of biscuits, crisps and bake bars to take away as all packaged. The alcohol seems to be opened at the till so you have to drink it then!

This offer is for after 4.30pm.
Don't think there is any gravy with the meatballs. Comes with mash and the jam type sauce but they usually ask if you want that sauce- kids meatball meal:

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/images/local-store-pages/ikea-childrens-meatballs__1364317271045-s2.jpg

Fish and chips was a bit old school dinners. I tried it with the £1 offer last year. Fish was flakes:http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/images/local-store-pages/ikea-fish-and-chips__1364317268479-s2.jpg Can have tartare sauce with it.

It's a bit like a canteen really. So you can just say what you don't want.

Register for a family card before you go and print out the temporary card. Otherwise you may be able to register via one of the kiosks in the store. You will need the membership card or the temp printout to show in order to get this deal.

We spent £37.30 in the restaurant - meals and desserts for four, plus crisps, biscuits etc to take home. Then we bought things we were going to IKEA for - including picture frames, batteries etc which came to £37.70. So 40p to pay.
Just for info, it wasn't advertised in store, so we checked at the till and she showed us the terms and conditions. Handwritten at the bottom, it said minimum spend £6.95.

The weekday 4:30pm+ receipt that you get for your food/drink in the restaurant [some of which can be in a format that enables "carry-out"] can only get used once, the same day and against your warehouse check-out bill [with only the exceptions listed in the T&Cs eg gift cards]:
"Offer can only be redeemed once per customer, per purchase on the same day (the date on your IKEA Restaurant receipt)"

That one claim can be against whatever you have in your basket at the warehouse till ie whatever's fitted in your yellow bag/trolley as you went around the store - eg I spent c£7 in restaurant and got that off a £15 lamp purchase. Tomorrow I'll do similar and get my restaurant bill off some napkins/glassware etc.

Went crazy in the restaurant. Let the kids eat adult sized meals. Picked up a couple of cans of Kopperberg, Belvoir ginger beer and raspberry lemonade, 2 packs of Daim bars and 5 bags of nuts in addition to food we were eating in the restaurant. None of the alcohol was opened at the till.

£42 off our purchase of wrapping paper, lampshades and the normal useless tatt you "need" from Ikea.

Yes you can definitely use the offer more than once, it's just limited to one claim per Family Card per day. (I've had two free dinners so far!)

Just be sure to use Family Card both when buying in the restaurant and again at the till when showing your receipt to the cashier.

Hey - I was going to go tonight for this but I can't see any confirmation of the deal on the website. Is this still available?
mk-donald
12 Apr 17 #110
It is still there on the website, and was working (for my 2nd time) last Friday evening.

eg if you go to their site and Store Locator page
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/store/
and see there are two offers - a Hop in for Easter fun promo and if you click to go right you get the "All the furniture you can eat" with...
"IKEA Restaurant Offer for IKEA FAMILY Members
"Purchase a meal from IKEA Restaurant between 20th March and 14th April after 4.30pm Monday to Friday and redeem your receipt for the amount you spend to use in-store on any home furnishing product (terms and conditions apply)."

ie quite clear it's to close of play Friday 14th April.

Just buy your meal/food/drink/snacks at the restaurant till using a Family Card, then when get to the warehouse till present (a) Family Card (b) Restaurant till receipt to get the cashier to credit the amount off your bill.

Discount even works at the 15 items or fewer self-service tills ("15 items or less" in Ikea non-English speak) as the monitoring cashier will enter the receipt as a coupon for you when asked.
