Is there any advantage to this over a scraper? I used to use stuff like this but the bottles didn't last long and took ages to clear the screen. Bought a cheap scraper (£1.50) about five years ago and never looked back, it's much faster and cheaper.

A Scraper? Jeeeez.
All you need is a 2L bottle and some free, luke warm "De-Icing Fluid" from your hot tap before you set off.
Start the engine, put your wipers on, pour all over the windscreens and your away (literally).
No scraping, no freezing hands, no nasty aerosols and chemicals..

Thanks, just ordered four for collection from local store. Come next winter I'll probably forget I have them somewhere in my garage.
