It's beer man. You'd be okay drinking it 2 year out of date. I wouldn't give it a second thought.

................. and another thing; why are the tins weaker that the bottled versions? Hobgoblin is 5.2% in bottles but 4.5% (I think) in cans.
And this is 4.5% in bottles and 4.2% in cans.............

It depends where you get it from. I had some Hobgoblin bottles a few weeks ago and they were 4.5%. I thought they tasted different and that's why. Can't remember where from but one of the supermarkets

I prefer Hobgoblin Gold but everybody has there own tastes. I managed to get a pack of 8 bottles of Wychwood Fire catcher for £8 from amazon a few days ago which I also like

Wychwood firecatcher is always on sale for £1 a bottle in our Asda in Skelmersdale, Lancs - if you can catch it in stock.

Just been to Tesco Cradley, Dudley and Stourbridge. Neither have these in stock

You must of missed them as I was in Cradley last night about 6pm and they had loads, they keep stocking them up. They're on the end of the bread aisle which is opposite the alcohol aisle, just to the right. Unless somebody had them all of course

I didn't like this version of Hobgoblin at all. Probably most people don't hence the price drop. But for those that do, that's a good price so voted hot

These are also in Tesco Streatham - they've replenished the shelves a few times as well over the last few weeks

I had a check and it seems that the tins contain "draft" versions of the beers while the bottles contain the version of the beer as it is brewed before watering down.

Check what brew you are getting. With hobgoblin there are many different strengths brewed - well, styles.
