Talk about missing the point mate this is not a competition if you want blow your own horn and promote your own posted deal go on i really dont care, did you even read my comments properlyand if you did do you actually understand what was written? And dont think you do. I have not mentioned anything about ao.com or about all tv's being returned faulty where the devil did you get that stupid idea from my comment, ridicolous!! Just asking consumers to be vary when buying from argos , and supported it with a picture , i will do the same on your live deal consumers should be aware,
Btw i will not indulge you in this game any more good bye

25 Mar 17 #88
Sorry bud wasnt talking about ao.com besides review site reviews can be massivley manipulated, especially the positive ones, one should understand that companies pay to be on review sites so the sites have been known to turn a blind eye to those "fake " positive reviews , while they can report the real negative reviews for no apparent reasons and they will remove,
Whati posted there will my experience and belive paying customers out there have a right to know what they can get in to , i will continue to post where i think this is appropiate

If Any One Decides to Buy from Argos I Would ask them to be very Careful I have been sent a series of Used and customer return Tv's as brand new some were clearly faulty , & thats was not just restricted to Hisense models their Fb page to suggests they have done this to many , look at the picture of a one with missing screws they had sent this is just one example

I have the same TV , any one experiencing issues with the remote Freezing and not responding? ,
only remote power button working immediately shutting off screen and audio but not going on stand by not even the buttons on the back of the TV work have to use the manual switch to switch it off . diagnosed as a main board failure , on 2 separate Tv's including a replacement , cant get a proper answer even from hisense, except return it.
any advice welcome , however ill say when this works it is superb !! panel is 8bit + FRC black levels are really good

If its that one the menu's look like it could be UMC from slovakia or direct from China and looking at the spec has a very low performance panel too with only 220cd/m2 brightness and 1000:1 contrast.

Both sets clearly in the budget class spec wise as to be expected.

25 Mar 17 #77
Bought this a few months back as present for parent....really stunning picture and nice menu layout. I've a 2 yr old Sony Bravia LED and was rather envous.

Only issue we have is that an update caused some issues with iPLayer working...not sure if it was resolved or not as think they're still having problems, but when I'm next on the lookout I'm be after a 55 inch version of this.

Having had this telly for 6 months, it's great for Xbox one s and looks great most of the time. I just find dark scenes look a bit dodgy, I've tried many different settings but can't seem to get it right. It's not much of a problem considering the price I paid.

HAve the 55 inch. Amazing tv !!

25 Mar 17 1 #74
According to this site;

http://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/674d5f9

It has a very low brightness panel of only 250cd/m2, a low motion interpolation rate so judder more likely on panning shots. It would be ridiculous to class this as HDR when its almost half the brightness of some standard 4k sets which can be up to 440cd/m2 and something like the Samsung 7000 goes up to 1000cd/m2 which is the best budget HDR set currently I think although there are quality/reliability issues with that set.

This certainly looks like a budget set or at least budget panel fitted to it. Doesn't mean its not a nice set and people won't be happy with it but there are no miracles looking at the spec. Many of the Vestel sets go above 400cd/m2 in brightness and have far better motion interpolation rates and panels with a <8ms pixel response. AVforums seem to like hisense because of the great calibration options that you don't see on many other sets especially budget sets.

Now I have a problem my pioneer vsx-922 can't go above 1080p woops forgot about that now I need a new amp but the size difference is keeping me happy for now and £260 for the TV money well spent

Ive got a 65" Hisense 4k and have been very very happy with it, sure you could probably spend 3 times as much a different 'premium' brand, but then money always works out that way, i could drive a Jaguar or Audi but they wouldn't get me to my destination any quicker or more comfortably than my hyundai!

Got the Samsung 55KS7000 but sent it back because there is no upscaling only the display of a HD signal on a bigger screen - no such thing as upscaling to near 4k - a myth. The TV is unwatchable in the dark as the backlight is visible even when dialled down so films look really bad. The colours are extremely difficult to get right as AVForums suggest and prove my point, you should have a day and night time setting - bizarre. Motion is not perfect on these TVs - not a surprise since there is more power in a budget smartphone. I have a 10 year old 19 inch PC monitor with better colour, no motion problems, can watch it in the dark, and it looks really sharp in HD.

OLED is the only way to go with these new TVs above 50 inches whilst we are still on HD TV broadcasts.

Just had a thought I have a 10m hdmi cable from my pc to that will go to this TV. Do I need to upgrade the cable to a 2.0 version for 4k or is it all bull like expensive hdmi cables if so might need to spend another £20 or so getting one.

24 Mar 17 1 #58
Thoroughly recommend this TV.

Got the 50inch for the same price from Amazon a few months back.

Originally got a LG 49UH770v which was nearly double the price, but it had a fault with PVR and went back. Also the local dimming was shocking but that's by the by as could disable.

Wanted a replacement but none in stock so got a refund and decided to gamble on this as a stop gap til OLED comes down a bit.

Picture quality is every bit as good as the LG IMO, even has HDR with a firmware update.

But the OS is rubbish and freeview play made it slower, but, image quality for gaming and hd/4K streaming etc is brilliant for the money. A superb buy at this price level

The 55 inch is £450 new, not £430. I don't think the 55inch has ever been less than £450 at this point in time. If you have the receipt (and so the warranty) I think you should go for that 2nd hand one for £260 it sounds good to me.
Just watch out for faults on it, can you see it working before you buy it?

I've had this TV for 6 months now... LOVE IT. I have PS4, FireTV 4K, and BT 4K.... the HD looks great, the 4K looks amazing. No Lag on gameplay (tested it with driving, shooters, first person, fighters, etc). Not sure how good the HDR is but the picture quality overall (contrast, black levels, colour) is outstanding. The only thing that could be better is viewing angles but I guess I'll have to wait for the OLED screens if I want that too. I'm very happy with my purchase and if I get the latest £400 Hisense in the next 3-4 years time (with the latest tech) it will still be cheaper than many of the LG, Samsung, Sony TVs...

I haven't had any input lag on either PS4 or Xbox and they've both been hammered playing Battlefield 1, Just Cause 3, Forza Horizon 3, Project Cars, MW Remastered etc. The only bad thing is the sound isn't the best but I bought a soundbar. (Sorry for the long list of games, just trying to give an idea of what could be affected by lag but are absolutely fine!)

If anyone is a Harmony remote user (or has future plans to use the Harmony hub with Alexa) and tempted by a Hisense then be aware that the TV's don't have discrete IR codes for their HDMI inputs and you can't use the workaround of cycling through the inputs as the order changes dependant on the last use.

Honestly don't know how it compares with the much more expensive brands, but I couldn't afford to pay the earth to find out! If you compare the two on Display Wars they seem relatively similar (10% larger diagonal / 21% larger surface). However in the living room the 50" now looks really small :stuck_out_tongue:

Hisense have got themselves a bit of recognition since they sponsored the Euros, probably the best of the cheaper brands, however when comparing with Sammy and LG, which often have HDR then overall quality will still be with the big two, but at this price range you won't find better so depends on your overall budget really
vsz to Epiphany
24 Mar 17 1 #15
They're getting bigger and bigger in the UK and I would say having read reviews, they're pretty much comparable with the Samsung/LG TV's of similar size (excluding the OLEDs) which typically cost £500-£600.

I've ordered mine for free delivery on Sunday so will know more then! I'll definitely be using the AV Forum display tuning advice
