My 65 came yesterday and I'm very happy with it. The build date was mid January '17 and the 'buzzing/chirping' fault is not evident. A few tweaks to the colour settings has also improved the picture.
It's a lot of tv for the money

So why does this tv not show HDR on Netflix and Amazon?

Beware of this tv as the build quality has gone way downhill in the last few months. Check out avforums thread on it which is now 9000 odd posts long - mine had the notorious chirping power supply fault which it seems most machines built after Nov 16 seem susceptible to. I returned mine to John Lewis and upgraded to a Sony which is much superior with amazon 4K app built-in giving a stunning picture (and no I don't live in a cave)
Also my Sony has a lovely picture out of the box (and even better after some tweaking) whereas the Hisense drove me mad trying to find a decent setting

Thanks for all the comments good and bad. I've just ordered through RS. It has all the spec I need. Hope there is an update to get YouTube 4K soon

£1000 for a unknown name brand sounds bad, I wouldn't trust this at all, surely it's better to stick with Sony,Samsung etc?

If Hisense is unknown brand question is in which cave you have been hiding? Maybe less advertised, but look on different AV forums to see that this brand kind of take over market in lower budget range, easy competing in bung for buck with "known" brands.
I ordered this on Sunday from John Lewis with a price match of £989.92 as they factored in the delivery charge.
I suppose it may be better to pay the extra £10 to get it from Richer Sounds as they give a 6 year guarantee whereas John Lewis' is only 5.

Is it good watching movies in the dark?,reviews are putting me off lg,panasonic etc in that respect. The 55M7000 I take it would be identical to this one.

.... worrying about brands that are are out there.
Expert comments:
It’s usually with SD content that TVs falls down but Hisense didn’t. Upscaling was actually impressive – noticeably better than Samsung and LG and it rivalled Sony’s excellent Bravias.

Hisense's amazing ULED TV beats the entire Samsung TV range. Google Goodgear guide.
Very good reviews on this TV.

Brightness and colour depth are related, if it's cant get the desired nits then it can't do proper hdr.

Conslocal dimming doesn't work at all, very poor off axis performance, poor backlight bleedthrough, backlight visible in corners with greenish tinge, very slow apps store

The brightness and the colour depth are completely unrelated.
If you want a high end HDR TV then the thing to look at is it's local dimming performance as that makes the biggest difference.

Be very interesting to see the branded around that time but over a 1000 nits and with game mode in hdr mode it's a good spec, although would prefer back lit.

Claims 10bit but only gives 300nits, which is a long way off 1000 lol

This is sounding a ridiculously stupid question as I write it, but would this 65" TV fit on a TV stand that say it's suitable for up to 60"? The stand is 141cm wide and the TV is "only" 145cm. Also, surely TVs are sufficiently light these days that I can't see weight being an issue either. Any comments appreciated - and thanks OP for posting this, I think it looks a good deal.

There'll be no issues, I think generally for TV units they say up to xx inches is so that the unit will be wider than the TV itself. Some folks prefer it looking that way whereas personally I don't really mind the TV being a bit wider.
ALSO NO HDR OVER HDMI ???unsure how true that is.
or if its a 8bit or 10bit panel

It does HDR over HDMIs 3 and 4 just fine, tested both on a 1080p PS4 in Uncharted 4, as well as 4K HDR via Netflix on a NVIDIA Shield TV.
Absolutely brilliant TV for the price! Definitely puts the Samsung 65KS7500 to shame which I sent it back due to the terrible build quality and poor viewing angles, specially at 1.5x the price of this Hisense.
