Henry vacuum for a sensible amount of money from a decnt retailer.
I have heard great things about these lasting many years. After many years of using mid range vax jobbies lasting 2-3 years then suction turns to useless and filters need changing or cleaning frequently they really turn in to a pain.
These henry's take anything you chuck at them.
Granted he looks like a pedo, but he'll be locked away when not in use because those bug eyes always feel like they're watching you ...

I got 2 Henry's 18 months ago before the EU forced them to cut the power from 1200 watts to 600 watts only. The 600 watts are still powerful enough anyway.

Why did the EU force them to halve the power?

Great vac- we've had our's agessss now after almost yearly replacements of the usually snazzy bagless variety we always ended up getting. Grab some reusable bags as well and you're sorted.
That knowing smile and watchful eyes from the corner of your bedroom while you're having a rollick around takes a little getting used to though.

Great hoover, especially for rough jobs like DIY cleanups. Crap on normal domestic carpet though, due to lack of beater brush, so I keep an upright for those jobs. But everything else, the old 1200W Henry is the king.
flubit offer came back @ £9 with Electric Mania Limited as the seller who are also selling on amazon

Yep, just don't bother with bags. Work fine without 'em

I have a Henry that's probably around 30 years old at this point, still going strong, the new ones are good but still crap compared to the old one.

I've had my Henry hoover for 19 years, and it had seen who knows how much service in a student Hall of Residence before that. Still going strong, never bother putting a bag in it, the thing seems indestructible!

That's what I've been doing so far  but I think that'll mean I have to clean the filter more often to not lose suction

I use one of these without a bag a good 50% of the dust will be going back in the room
Haven't tried them yet - although the washable one mentioned above sounds good.

I'd say dry your eyes but presumably the paper tissues would require trees to be cut down :smirk:

Well those genius EU rulemakers didn't consider that if they restricted the power that a vacuum cleaner can use, then people just have to use them for a longer time, completely cancelling out any power saving benefits.

Price on Amazon likely to come back down again after the HUKDealers get their orders and stocks build up again. I've found that's how Amazon works
