1. All this stuff about people going after these deals and then trading them in is just sad.
2. If you all go and buy it and then trade it in for about 25 quid, the trade in price will soon drop. The stores monitor the prices for other stores. They're not going to carry on paying 25 for trade ins when someone is selling it new for 25, because they will then have to sell the traded in versions for more than 25 to make money and not many people will buy them when they can go to another shop and get it new for 25.
3. You can get Live for 3 months from about 9 quid without having to go and get the deal and then go to the shop to trade it in or sell it online and post it off, which all cost money with bus fares, parking, petrol etc, or a whole year of Live for 25/30 quid, which is regularly the price and is always on this website.
4. Leave the deals for people that will actually use them. Some people would be very happy, looking forward to getting Halo Wars 2 and then getting some 'free' Live with it, and they will use it and enjoy it, but instead you get a whole load of saddos buying them all so they can then trade in or sell part of it and then keep what's left, though there are probably people here who will also sell the 3 months Live just to make a few quid. So sad. Like when people buy all copies of something on offer and put them all on eBay. Just get one for yourself, maybe a couple from some of your friends, and then leave the rest for there people to enjoy and then go home and enjoy your new game instead of trying to make a few quid.

Great deal but as usual with argos you have to get it in store for the best price (rip off delivery) and this deal is actually in store only.
I know argos stores are pretty common but so many other stores do free delivery these days and im sure there is no good reason they couldn't do the same offer online too.
So hot deal but disappointing that argos are so old fashioned and inflexible with their deals...

As much as your post situates you in an ideal world we dont live in one. Argos usually have two of this deal anyway so its hard to "save them for other people". You cant stop people trading it in and doing what you said. You are essentially telling them "dont wake up at 8 to go to Argos to make 9 quid per game". Its free money and noone would say no to that

21 Mar 171#34
Dear bobac,
You have just said yourself that Game are aware and 'working to adjust', i.e. like i just said, the other shops are aware of the prices from other retailers (most will probably be using an electronic tracking system for prices), and then they adjust their prices. So in a short while, the trade in price will have dropped (it already has for some people), and there will only be a couple of people who who will be able to 'take advantage' of the offer before prices are changed.
As someone else said, this one being Argos, you either have to pay delivery or go in store, so it makes it even more pointless.
Also, if you are talking about people doing this regularly and buying in large quantities as a 'job', hopefully one day they will be found out and be made to pay tax on their income, as that is what it is.
They could just run a business. I legitimately sell items for a 500 to 900% + profit margin. £1 to £2 items into £10+ items with very small operating costs.
We don't live in an 'ideal wold' because the people choose to make it like that. They could easily say 'I value enjoyment over money'. Pay your bills, have enough to eat and then you don't need money for anything except stuff you enjoy.
People choose to value money over other things, so they create this 'unideal world'.
If they're so desperate for money, why are they buying games? And new games?
I wouldn't pay 40 or 25 for a game. Wait until it is ten pound new, or less.
If you take a 'time out', don't get any new games for a year, play the pile of games that most people on here probably have lying around, which they have bought but not played (further enhancing my point, and if they had waited instead of buying to stockpile them, they would probably be cheaper now anyway; very few recent , widely available games increase or hold value, GTA, Bully etc being some exceptions) and then once you have played your backlog (and enjoyed it... Hopefully that's why people actually buy games), all the games that came out in that gap year will now be much cheaper and you can get them for ten quid and carry on being 'a year behind', playing all the games for about ten quid, not 40.

What planet are you from? You contradict yourself saying people spoil for others making themselves some money/free Xbox live. Then you start talking about yourself selling cheap items for profit.

Hope that helps.

I know what you mean. There is a right knob in High Wycombe Game. I asked for a price to trade in Call of Duty on Xbox One which comes with Modern Warfare remastered on the disk. He gave me a really low price and I saw he'd given the price for PS4. I said can you check Xbox One as Modern Warfare is download on the PS4 rather than on the disk like Xbox. He wouldn't do it and said they would be the same. I asked someone else there couple of mins later and was like £15 more. I told knob head on way out and he said yeah sometimes they're different. Always makes it really awkward for anything.

How can this particular account not yet be banned yet the other "SuperJumpingBeans" account is? Some strange people around, signing up different accounts to post a load of nonsense.
What's even worse is the people who like this drivel. The reason the price is as low as it is already is due to people who have bought and traded in. The market has to follow and challenge the lowest price. Which in the process ultimately helps those who want to play these new games for cheaper...

In effect that's what they call causes stagflation when everyone waits for things to go down in price before they purchase it, a huge problem for the economy that's why they keep pumping money into the banks, quantitative easing and further devaluing the pound. It's all artificial, money is not real, they can magic money out of thin air and everyone's value of things have gone to pot.

Buying a deal to actually use it... how very old fashioned of me...
HUKP not HUKD... now the buy and sell section has gone... daily this is seemingly more like a place that profiteers hang out...
Those asking where you can get xbox live for £25 I managed it not that long ago... and keep my eye open for deals... much easier than buying four copies of this and trading them in just to get a year of live for £20... Kudos to those that live that way though... different strokes for different folks.
anyway thanks to the OP for the heads up I am very happy with a game I wanted and a code to stack.
Opening post
Game will currently give you your money back for Halo Wars 2 so a free 3 months live essentially.

... Got 10 for ebay too while I was at it!
Like I said earlier really.. deals at and around £25 pop up all the time.
The very same day... it happens.
