Having spent a lot of time in Sweden, that chart is just plain incorrect. Alcohol there is considerably more expensive than in the UK, whether you consider supermarket prices or bar/pub prices - although that page gives no information on its sources or when the data was collected. It also says alcohol is cheaper in Switzerland than in France. What utter rubbish!

Who knows? If we get some good trade deals with AUS, NZ, Chile etc it might be cheaper ... not that keen on European wine anyway!

UK is the fifth most expensive country in the world for alcohol, so it could and should be a lot cheaper.
