I used silicone lubricant in upvc window hinges. I think for my bike I used some kind of waxy chain lube for dusty conditions. What is the Gt stuff based on ?

Just a word of warning when using this stuff on bikes..... keep it well away from disc rotors and pads

Doesn't penetrate as well as WD-40 so not as good (although still good) for loosening bolts etc but better for leaving a ptfe/teflon type coating for lubrication which WD-40 doesn't do. GT85 seems very competitively priced. You see it for this price on various bike shop sites but the alternative PTFE lubricants from other suppliers seem more expensive, 3 in 1 etc.

Wonderful stuff for bike chains. Cleaning and loosening then once dry a light lube (or nothing at all if you are happy to reapply weekly)

Clean the chain with this. Keep it well clear of disc brakes... If fact don't even spray it in the same room.
