My wife is a Guidedog owner and you are correct. But search Uber refuse Guidedog and take your pick of stories. Here's one to start you off

Pretty sure that the law states that taxis/private hire have to take guide dogs.

This is probably to encourage people to install their mobile app, so they can track your movement and sell it to 3rd parties.

Hopefully no one is a Guidedog owner here else good luck trying to get Uber to pick you up.

Worked for me to tonight for a £14 credit on a new account

When I first signed up I missed out on the code. I contacted Uber after asking them if I could get the £15 and they gave me it in credit, not just for 1 ride.

I updated my bank card on my exisitng Uber account this week as I switched banks recently and I got another £15 credit applied without doing anything
