Unique records from World War 1 and the Easter Rising, extensive travel and migration collections, as well as detailed Irish court and prison registers are all available to help you add colour to your discoveries.

There are good uses for these sites, in fact it's best to jump around as many websites as you can to gain whatever information you can find... the likes of Ancestry are good for creating an easy to navigate tree and attach the information you find to it. Mind you, it's taken years to build up a reasonable tree... It's a shame there's not a lot of free resources out there, and I find Ancestry's yearly subscription to be extortionate, if they brought the price down they'd probably get a lot more paying users!

Gets on me bleeding nerves these ancestry sites, I signed up for free access like the deal says, I start with me, go to add the first person in my tree & it says, you don't have access to this, you have to upgrade, use credits or start a free trial, so I end up starting a trial, having to input credit card details, I could of just done that in the first place.
