I previously had a 3 month trial over a year ago and when they did this same offer in January, I was able to sign up to it. I suspect if you've been inactive for a period of time, it allows you to sign up for another trial.

Currently on a trial and loving it. Great collection of 90's dance music such as the complete Bonzai back catalogue. You even get 10% off Play Store app purchases on the trial. The Play Music app is a bit poor though, especially how it zooms in on the album art. It would be enough to put me off subscribing.

Handy as Spotify is sometimes in use by someone in the house (have 3 Echos and a child which knows how to ask for the Frozen album to be played...) and stops the music for me in the car... so this way I can have a backup for 4 months. That'll do!

I moved to it for 4 months from Spotify, got until May left. I got to say personally, I don't like Google Music. The app is slow to start streaming songs in comparison to Spotify. The recommendations are pretty poor. And I've also been using different spotify accounts with all the deals throughout the years so it's not like they know my taste much better than Google Music. Will probably end up going back to spotify and paying for it as this saving money stuff on music services results in me not actually listening to that much music as discovery just gets broken... first world problems I guess

Any suggestions on how to migrate music/playlists from spotify? I've got hundreds of albums saved on there. I tried soundiiz one, but had a security alert from Google that someone in the US had my password, even though I couldn't get soundiiz to connect through to my GPM account.

I'd really like to go back to Google Play Music but the interface man. It has zero options. Google - please give me a dark theme and the option to NOT blow up the artwork, it looks awful. I know it seems petty but when you've used Black Player or Spotify the Google Player interface just makes you sad.

When you cancel - how do you know it's accepted that? It still has the 'Cancel Subscription' button active and no confirmation message came up when I cancelled...

Be VERY CAREFUL once this offer ends and you are cancelling your account with Google Play Music. I went on a previous offer, a free 3 month subscription, and thought I'd cancelled my free account after 3 months after going to the Google Play Music cancellation page. I also checked on my Google account on the ongoing subscription page after supposedly cancelling and Google didn't flag up that I hadn't actually managed to cancel Google Play Music successfully after all and needed to redo the cancellation (as the cancellation page didn't work properly and Google ongoing payments let that slip under the carpet as it didn't reveal this, wonder why, is it a google moneymaking scam maybe???). Afterwards, I was getting monthly emails about my £10 Google Play Music monthly payment (- roughly that amount, I'm not sure exactly) which was sent to a gmail email address which I don't normally use (- but it went there as this was my email address tied up with my Google account) and I didn't notice I was being charged every month for 3 months. I'm never going back to Google Play Music, even if it's 'free'!

Got a free trial when i bought my nexus 6, but have 4 gmail addresses on the phone and it just lets you use another address for the free trial.

My free 12 month Spotify sub was just running out when I got this offer - was over 12 months since my last Google sub which is why I got the offer - will cancel anyway - dont think I've ever paid for a sub in the last two years - so many free trials going.

Are you saying if you cancel before the 4 months time period, you will not be charged anything. Or do you have to give notice ?
If you go in to the 5th month and cancel is it only 1 months charge

Straight after you subscribe you can go in and cancel the subscription, this will stop it's renewal ONLY. The service will continue to work until subscription end date i.e. In 4 months.

Just came from Spotify to Google play using the above link. Anyone else have a problem of public playlists not showing on android? Very annoying.

Nobody cares about google play in this market. They missed this market by a long shot.

personally I love google play, with this and the android voice actions through my car I can pick and choose music without having to take hands off steering wheel.

I have just canceled and it still works except you cannot download, the download link disappears. Would it not be better to cancel in three months time, one month before it renews or would this occur a charge

This is a great deal, i took it up around three weeks ago after using Spotify for around 5 years. I have to say, this isn't a patch on Spotify. It's good, don't get me wrong and there are a lot of songs on there but I don't find it as intuitive as Spotify and there are not as many playlists available which is disappointing. However, it is free for four months so it would be rude not to take up the offer!

You need to go to https://payments.google.com/payments/u/0/home#paymentMethods to remove/edit the card info.

I had this same problem and eventually I figured it out - go to Settings and press 'Refresh' (in the ACCOUNT menu). Hopefully this will work for you too!

Interestingly I never even got asked to add or register ANY card for payment to sign up for this offer!. Seems by simply having enough Google play credit in my account to cover the first month's (month 5) payment it then didn't check you have or ask to register a credit\debit card to your Google account!.

Still had 2.5 weeks on my last 4 month trial, subbed on another account. Thank you, have some heat!

By the way, I use it primarily on my phone, would I have to change my Google account on my android phone to use the account with the new sub? Or can I have a different account in the google play app? Thanks.

does anybody know if you can download to your PC using this trial?

I know you can download to your mobile device, but the tracks are saved in a mishmash format re: naming, etc., so not ideal for removing from the device to PC/external storage for later use!

I wasn't able to work out how to download to PC using the free trial... but then again, I'm not the best in the world with all da techmolojeeze.
