Flew this route in January as part of a £250 return deal we booked in November. Cannot recommend the airline enough, in these days of low cost EVERYTHING it seems, Singapore Airlines offered free drinks (I doubt unlimited but they didn't bat an eyelid at me asking for a 2nd beer), 2x meals, snacks, icecreams. We were on the new A350 and the in flight entertainment was superb - virtually an iPad on he back of the seat in front. Up there with one of the best flights I've had.
The route from MAN-HOU was only half full so lots of people were spreading out taking 3 seats to themselves, way back was almost full mainly with people going on to Singapore afterwards.
Oh and unrelated to the flight, but Texas is a great state to tour around. We hired a car and saw some of 'real' America
Highly recommended.

I have a Halifax current account and if you log into their app, "Cashback extras" appears.
Mine shows Singapore Airlines (amongst others) and if you pre-register the debit card prior to purchase, you get 10% cachback in the form of a credit to your account.

It's also worth noting that the same aircraft then flys from Manchester directly to Singapore. I checked for flights to bali in economy for end of May and coming in at £460 which isn't bad for the level of service that you get even in economy. Qatar however did come in at £320 return on sky scanner for a similar date and that was via Doha which took longer.

I wonder if Emirates, Etihad and Qatar are planning to do fueling stops in Manchester

It's been this price for ages. I booked 4 tickets (2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant) between 20-30 August for £900 about a month ago. Worth checking again in a few weeks time as Manchester is a refuelling stop on this route and SA regularly flogs these for pennies to put bums on seats
rather be hot n sticky over wet n windy

Many years ago now, when I first flew BC with Singapore, I was astonished when, as I removed my jacket whilst settling into my seat, the flight attendant addressed me by name. ... "May I help you with that Mr ...?"
The best BC airline I ever flew with.
Heat from me.
