Bristol to Zadar : April 15th, 22nd, 25th & 29th
London Stansted to Carcassonne : April 18th, 22nd, 23rd & 29th
P.S: I'm posting this because I got up late and all the best PlayStation deals have been posted :disappointed:

Depending where you live, this may not be of much use. For example the only flights from Birmingham are to Sofia in Bulgaria, which isn't too bad as quite a few Brits and masses of Bulgarians living in that area can take advantage of that one.
Turn to Glasgow and you've got Brussels (yippee), Stansted, Derry (in time to celebrate the demise of a man named similar to their national drink), and wait for it, the fantastic destination we all want to go to........ Palanga in Lithuania.
Oh well, can always wait for the next load of offers.

What do you mean ? Yes if you live near Brum and want to fly to Sofia it's fantastic, my meaning was that there is only one destination from Birmingham - there are several destinations from other airports, but I thought that having a limited number of destinations was not particularly fantastic for people living near Birmingham.

So you visited Lithuania...... every single part of the country presumably ? Perhaps a bit like people who say they've been to Spain and what a lovely country it is when they stayed in Benidorm only.
Palanga is on the coast and a fair distance from Kaunas and Vilnius, so perhaps Palanga flights are only suitable for those wishing to go to the resort................ with very little information to go on, it's hard to know exactly how exciting Palanga is, or how it compares to the rest of Lithuania.
I posted a bit of a light-hearted comment about lack of choice from some airports and one-line specialists decided to judge without explanation.......... typical of this site the past couple of years sadly.
Interestingly, there are several posters whose names I don't see any more, despite being several times a night posters a few years ago - comments, deals and so on.......... this site has changed.
What an idiotic comment........... do you honestly think every square foot of Glasgow has a druggy with a blade, and Lithuania is full of angels - we've had several unpleasant persons from Lithuania, if you do a search on google for ''Lithuanian criminals in uk'' there are some very worrying results. I am not suggesting they all inhabit or even visit Palanga, but many former soviet bloc holiday resorts are controlled by mafia and used for money laundering purposes - not our problem as tourists, because those mafia 'businessmen' usually ensure the resorts are safe in order to protect their investments.
Oh yes, 'sunny beach' is actually a resort in Bulgaria, not Lithuania

Launching a flash sale at the same time as website maintenance is a bit daft though.

Just got back from 5 nights in Sofia yesterday evening having got return flights for the grand sum of £30 a few weeks back. Left behind temperatures in the low 20s to come back to rain... and it's so very tempting to book flights back in a month's time!
Would highly recommend the city for a quiet short city trip, with English reasonably widely spoken in restaurants which made things much easier than you might expect with the different alphabet to decipher.
Oh and the landing on the way there was the smoothest I've ever had with Ryanair. The one on the way back was the usual "throw it on the ground" style though!

Given that the state of the world before the EU's predecessors (that eventually evolved into it) was world war 2, forgive me if I'm not thrilled to see the demise of the EU.
barbiegirl
23 Mar 17#77
You're forgiven for not being thrilled. Also you're forgiven for thinking that federal government by Brussels has somehow brought peace to Europe. Apart from the Balkans. Apart from Ukraine (still part of the European continent). Apart from the 'war of terror' that's affecting France, Belgium, Germany and the UK. Totally forgiven.
olivermills6
23 Mar 17#78
Nope not every inch of Lithuania of course, but you made it sound like you don't like the option because it's in Lithuania. Anyway, I don't understand your main criticism. All deals are dependent on one's personal requirements.
CampGareth
23 Mar 17#79
Ah but the cries aren't for a replacement to the EU, they're simply to scrap it. As for what comes afterwards, hopefully it's peaceful relations with everyone everywhere but this still feels like a step backwards from the star trek world where every nation on earth is united (admittedly only when we realise someone's watching us wage stupid wars and we feel embarrassed).
barbiegirl
23 Mar 17#80
Personally, the issue for me was one of scope creep. I was quite happy that we voted to join a common market. Over the last 35-40 years that has turned into Federal Government. Not the same thing. That's aside from any discussions about the fiscal inefficiencies of the EU, the gravy train pensions, the millions spent shuffling the EU parliament from Brussels to Strasbourg and back every six months. I guess you know that list could go on and on. The EU is bankrupt. They're killing Greece. Italy is screwed because of the Euro, and Spain, Portugal and France aren't much better. The Germans continue to cling to the ideal of a common currency. I can only thank God we didn't join that particularly stupid bit of group think.
