Suggest you get your facts right before you comment about something you know nothing about and be so negative!!
The card can be used on standard anytime fares. The only peak restrictions are when travelling between 2 London stations, although this does not apply on public holidays. I have used this many a time travelling at a peak time between Euston and other stations in the country.
The cost of this card can be saved on just one journey so well worth the money.

Cold, EH? Save £5 on a £30 card and that's your version of a cold deal !!! HOT OP.
Just renewed my disabled adult railcard for the year for £20. That gets me and a companion a third off each. 1 return trip to Peterborough for 2 saved £34. BARGAIN

the deal is £5 off the railcard. Obviously Hot whether you think the railcard gives value for money is a totally different kettle of fish. I save at least £4 a week with mine ,that's without the bigger trips which are usually too expensive without a railcard.

Ignore the troll, it's a hot deal. Like you and many others find, this card can pay for itself and save you money in one journey, even in off peak hours ;-)

I shall contact virgin and inform them that their website has had a fault for the last few years because I frequently get a discount during peak times using a family and friends railcard.............

That's incorrect. Peak fares are not included. It clearly states the timings on the website..

For those in the south east a network card is a good option, tho not discounted £30 you can take another adult with 1/3 off plus there's good discounts 60% I think for kids. Only used after 10am m-f with min fare of £13 but no restriction at weekends / bank holidays
£8.80 thameslink one day travelcard from haywards Heath for example

My facts are perfectly correct thank you! Suggest to scoot over and read the T&C's of the railcard and get your facts right!!!
Just to prove a point I can get a ticket from Durham to Kings Cross for £44 going out at 08:48 for 1 Adult and 1 Child using a rail card during the week. If I remove the rail card it goes up to £78.
What's the saying..... I'm often mistaken but never wrong

May I suggest you get your facts right as well.
You will not get the discount between Durham & London before 9.30 am and the last time I checked Durham wasn't a London station, but there again I'm often mistaken but never wrong!!!!

Just to ensure people understand that this is a family card and one of the card holders must be travelling with a child.

It doesn't mean that it's not a good deal though. There are loads of good deals on here for products I would never buy but it doesn't mean they aren't good value.
