Rage 3S+ multipurpose mitre saw which cuts Steel, Aluminium and Wood (even wood with nails) is back on for under £200 at Amazon! This is the cheapest price I have found online and the cheapest price that it has been on Amazon.
This model comes with 24 tooth blade and is compatible with a tile cutting blade.

It's been this price at Screwfix since Christmas. I know this as I nearly bought it but managed to fix my old one instead. Just remember to check these with a square every time you use them if you want a perfect 90 degree cut.
Hi the one at Screwfix is the the Rage S-3. This one at Amazon is for the Rage S+3, so I believe it comes with the 24 tooth blade instead of the 20 tooth blade.

I bought a refurbished 3s and its excellent. The laser sight is spot on and did a cracking job for my decking and fence

Sort the reviews low to high and its grim reading dozens of reviews saying it's totally inaccurate.

I did my skirting and architraves with the Evolution 3S. It was actually quite accurate. I'm in London and keen to sell mine this week - good condition with all attachments but no box. You can check out the architraves if you want to check its accuracy. Never squared it. £50. PM me if you're interested.

The majority of low reviews are in relation to the laser, however lots of other reviews on screwfix and online say that the it's due to the user not squaring up the blade properly when fitting it.

get yourself some 25.4mm to 30mm bushes so that you don't have to use the rough ass blade it comes with. evolution use a none standard bore size so it's a bit of a pita

There would be little point in buying the Evolution if you were going to change it's blade as you may as well just go and buy another brand. Evolution made it's name years ago by it's revolutionary blade that would cut steel up to 6mm thick as well as aluminium and wood. I bought one for our engineering works in a about 2002. You don't want to know how much they cost back then. It's my guess they made the bore different not so you could put other manufacturer's blades on their machines, more likely to stop people putting Evolution blades on their own chop, mitre and circular saws. I think I know what you mean though about the blade in that if you want to use it for cutting wood, get rid of the evolution blade and put a wood blade in for a better cut.
I work for a joinery company now and we have mainly Makita compound mitre saws. I absolutely hate the Makitas. I have just a cheap unbranded one at home but it's looked after, has a decent blade in it and I can get as good a cut with it and if I had a choice of taking one of the works Makita's home or using my cheap B & Q one I would pick mine every time. I just done some 7" skirting at my daughter's house which it cut perfectly. Sometimes buying cheap can produce the same or better results and I would have no hesitation in buying a cheaper saw again. You just need to know what to look for and how to set them up.

well that blade tore up the surface of the laminate flooring I was fitting, it also tears paint off the surface of painted wood. the Bosch mitre saw with a 48t blade did not do this

The more teeth you have the better the cut will be. I haven't used an Evolution saw in over 10 years and don't even know if they make a 48t blade but if they did you will find it's a better cut than the 20t or 24t.

I'm looking at the Evolution as a DIYer who doesn't want to spend hundreds, have to have multiple tools or blades and just occasionally wants to cut some materials for a small home project. I agree for professional carpenters and trades the evolution probably isn't suitable.
