I have 2 numbers on the same account too - initially I was worried so contacted EE and they said its not possible for same person to have 2 accounts. Went ahead and submitted both the cashback claims and they got approved the first time without any hassles - just waiting for the cheque now.

Did you or anyone else have problems due to having 2 numbers on the bill? My first account was rejected then accepted after contacting them. Then I did my second account the next day and the claim went rejected, rejected then accepted in the matter of a hour without me contacting them this time.

Hopefully the issue will not occur as they said they will tell the cashback department about the issue to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Last month of the contract - wow ! By the way how do I get to online chat - can't see the option?
H51NGH
1 May 17 #347
The reason they overcharged is the following from their online chat support.
"I checked the bill and I would like to inform you that your bill charges are correct and valid. This month you got the high bill because we applied the advance monthly charge as per the normal process and it will be refunded back to you in the last month of your contract."
matwalaboy
30 Apr 17 #346
I had similar - I added up the numbers and essentially we are overcharged around 3 quid in the first month i.e. it should be 16.99 *3 = 50.97 (where the 16.99 for the first number for which we didn't get charged initially), but the total charged is 53.97 so thats an extra of 3 as I say - assume you are seeing similar?
cheaperbythe12
30 Apr 17 #345
Yeah, the bill doesn't add up after going through it but mine is £16.99 this month as it should be with the £10 discount they add each month (bringing it down from £26.99). Hopefully should be the same for all of us. It's just so stupid the way they itemise the bill as it really doesn't make any sense.

29 Apr 17 #344
My Bill came to and I really don't understand what is going on. I took out 2 of the £16.99 contracts one a week after the first and I am paying £53 pounds. What the hell EE!!! The first month I was charged for just the one sim 16.99 perfect but now my bill is much higher than it should have been for the 2 contracts. Really not a good deal if this is the short of **** gonna have to be dealing with.
I am absolutely fuming. The bill doesn't even make sense!

27 Apr 17 #343
Are others still seeing £26.99 for their montly bill? I received my first bill a few weeks back with a £10 discount but can't see anywhere online to show this is ongoing to make it £16.99/month. Guess I'll wait to see what I'm charged for the next bill which should come in next week or so.

I am in a similar situation too where I have 2 numbers on the same account (1 for myself and the other for the missus) would need to check with e2save (in my case) if that would be an issue - hoping not. I will let you know what I find - if you have clarity before me please do post your findings - thanks.

I'm going to email mobiles.co.uk and possibly EE because I now get one bill but it combines both my EE accounts that I have - the relevant details that mobiles.co.uk are all there but there is a load of confusing stuff there now as well due to both accounts.

First port of call will be to get mobiles.co.uk to say if this will be a problem uploading a bill that has two accounts on it. If not, then fine otherwise I'll see if I can get EE to separate them into 2 separate bills.

I expect I'm not the only person to have been in the situation before though here so just wondering if anyone has any advice on this?

How long does it take to port the number - put a request Friday evening around 7 am and yet no message to say the port has started - it does say if the request is made after 5:30 (Monday-Friday) it takes 2 working days - so I guess I need to wait a bit more - what has the experience for others been like?

Thanks.

Ported over Friday. EE confirmed increase was an error

"Due to RPI increase there is a change in base price however your contract started on 27th March and you should not be impacted by it but looks like there is some technical glitch and because of which there was an extra charge added"

I guess they rely on people not noticing/caring to make more money

A could of questions, apologies if they have been answered previously...

After or near the end of the 12 month contract length, do you need to give a months notice before cancelling?

Also, to confirm I can use my full data allowance to roam whilst in the EU? (Is there any caps or warning of I go over?)

Lastly, how long is the quarterly windows once opened for applying for the Cashback from mobiles.co.uk?

I applied for this deal on 27th Mar and got the sim by courier yesterday. The bill generates on 28th of the month, so the first payment is £17.66 including RPI increase on 28.3.17.
That means that in june"s bill I'll get cashback of £30 and another 4 cashbacks.

Its a deal I would have taken even without cashback due to apple music, and it costs £27.99 directly from EE.

If you go onto the Virgin website, you will find you can upgrade their £12 package to 4G with more data and mins and the price will fall to £9 - strange but true ! I just did this for my wife and daughter,. I have just replaced my own Vodafone contract which is coming to an end in May, with the too good to lose EE deal, but I cant really be bothered to go through the hassle of the new contract (only 12 months) and the number ports at either end to reduce the Virgin contracts from £9 to £4.50. That's obviously a personal thing though.

Porting from three was easy. Call the hotline (it is free), wait for an operator, ask for the PAC. You will need your security details and account details, and they will try to retain you a few times, but you should get the PAC nearly immediately.

But personally I would keep the Three 3-2-1 account, because you get great roaming in some non-EU countries.
MrPuddington

I very much disagree with this. The terms are very clear, calling an EU number (within the country you are in, or to another EU country) whilst roaming in the EU should be included in the allowance, see bits in bold:

4GEE Max Plans

If you have a 4GEE Max Plan then you have the option to use your allowances when roaming in our Europe Zone,

For calling and texting this means you can make calls and send texts back to the UK or within our Europe Zone like you do in the UK,

What’s included at no extra charge:

Making and receiving calls and sending texts when you’re abroad In our Europe Zone (e.g. a call from France to France)
Calls and texts to the United Kingdom from any country within our Europe Zone (e.g. a call from France to UK)
Calls and texts whilst abroad within our Europe Zone to any other country within the Zone (eg - A call from France to Spain
Calls to your voicemail and receiving voicemails
Stitch123
24 Mar 17 #280
The thing is I can't see it any where in their terms and conditions? Do you have a link? What I can find is you must wait 30 days to unlock a phone.
thenormalone
24 Mar 17 #279
You can use your allowance to call and text UK numbers or use all your 7GB data in the EU. The EU allowance doesn't cover international calls so calling an EU number whilst roaming in the EU would still be classed as an international call.
NitswithAsh
23 Mar 17 #278
Looks like people still have mixed views, you can definitely call UK from EU using the monthly allowance but has anyone tested using any EE Max plan to call from EU to EU and still using minutes from the monthly allowance (i.e. not paying separately for the same)?

Never had a problem with mobiles.co.uk redemption deals, very straight forward. Only just tied into a contract with EE 1GB data, 1000 mins and unlimited texts for £5 a month -- not bad as don't have to fuss around with redemption, but this is very good deal indeed!

From the EE website:
What’s included at no extra charge:

Making and receiving calls and sending texts when you’re abroad In our Europe Zone (e.g. a call from France to France)
Calls and texts to the United Kingdom from any country within our Europe Zone (e.g. a call from France to UK)
Calls and texts whilst abroad within our Europe Zone to any other country within the Zone (eg - A call from France to Spain
Calls to your voicemail and receiving voicemails

What’s not included:

Making calls or sending texts when you are in the United Kingdom to other countries
Making calls or sending texts to premium rate numbers and other non-geographic numbers (which can vary over time) aren’t included

In addition to calls and texts, 4GEE Max Plan customers can use their monthly data allowance whilst in our Europe Zone
matwalaboy
23 Mar 17 #274
Doesn't roaming in EU means you won't be charged to receive calls from anywhere and won't be charged to make calls to the UK - after all UK is the home country where you have your contract. Just like if you were in the UK you would pay to call any other EU number - the same principle applies here too.

This must trump their T&Cs

The only reasons why a provider can refuse to give a PAC are:

the number does not belong to the customer of the losing mobile provider
the account for that number has been terminated
the account holder has died
a PAC has already been issued and is still valid
the customer has not adequately proved that he or she is the legitimate account holder.

Thanks, very helpful. I actually ordered a pay monthly phone through mobiles.co.uk with EE a little over a month ago. After a series of problems, I've actually been downgraded to PAYG in error with nothing to pay for the remaining 22/23 months to finish out my contract, I'm actually a few £ in credit. They advised they can't reverse this however it effectively means I've got an iPhone 6S for very little. They actually suggested moving to a sim only would be best however I suspected going through mobiles.co.uk again would be cheaper, which I am pleased to see is.
matwalaboy
22 Mar 17 #261
Usually a day for the credit checks etc to be done and the next day or day after you should have the sim delivered.

And yes its a contract with EE and mobile.co.uk or E2Save are just the aggregator providing this deal - they are the ones who would be giving the cashback too and not EE.

And yes you can move from an EE PAYG to a contract SIM - if you look up there are posts to that effect in this thread.
pazza2000
22 Mar 17 #260
How long does the sim take to be delivered, and can you move from an existing EE PAYG # to a Sim only #?

Also, I guess the contract is with EE and you are simply ordering through mobiles.co.uk?

go to EE website and register with "my EE" once you've done that and logged into your account it will show what date your contract started from. Mine started on the same day as I ordered from mobiles.co.uk.

Also from the "my ee" section you can download the relevant bill from it and upload it to mobiles.co.uk "my account" under the cashback section. No need to take photos, just a PDF file

21 Mar 17 #236
I've seen the instructions, but is it really as simple as that?

- If you are new to Apple Music, you might continue with it after the 6 months is up. Apple Music has nothing to lose, and EE is more likely to gain your custom.

- If you already have Apple Music, and get 6 month free, Apple Music will lose £59.94. Why would Apple Music allow EE to have a promotion that costs Apple Music?

Hence, my question. Has anyone else been in the same situation. If not, I'll investigate and report back.

Nice, I was on a TMobile PAYG sim with about 3 months left on my internet booster and about £20 credit. Called them up, they transferred my number, my credit and refunded the three months of my internet booster all over to my new EE sim so essentially with the £5 tracked quidco and cashback I'm only paying like £10 for the year.

For those who have ported their mobile phone number over to EE do not forget to go to mobiles.co.uk and register under "my account" from there you can go to "my phone number" and change your temporary number over to the number you've ported across, depending on timing your first EE may show your temporary number, but second bill onwards will show your ported number.

also under the "my account" section you'll see under the cash back which months you need to send to them and you can all do it online and you'll receive a cheque once mobiles.co.uk are happy you've set the correct bill, although it's pretty much a formality if you've sent the correct bill

regarding mobiles.co.uk and E2save, well they both the same company so they should both be the same I would not say either is better

My plan is showing as £26.99 , however if you look at the billing page it shows as £16.99 (£10 discount)
It also shows as 12m 4GEE max plan including the option for free BT sports.

Cracking deal, but when I went on the website there's no mention that it's the max contract. So tethering will not be allowed & only 500mb of data in Europe rather than the full 7GB, so that's the reason I didn't go for it!

20 Mar 17 #202
Existing EE customers; I called EE yesterday to cancel my contract and advised that I was getting a new EE one from a 3rd Party vendor. I asked about porting my number over to my new SIM when it arrives, and they said all I needed to do was to have my current contract changed over to PAYG. This effectively ends my contract. Then, when the new SIM arrives, I can call EE and have my old number ported to it.
No need to get another company's PAYG SIM, no need to top up £5/£10, no need for a PAK code. They even said I'll get a refund, as my monthly rolling contract payment went out on the 5th of March, so I'll be credited the rest of the month's payment back.
So as long as I contact Mobiles.co.uk, and let them know of the number change, I'll get my new contract on my old number without any of this other hassle.
My question is; why has no one else been told this? Have I been completely misinformed by EE?
rwalto159
19 Mar 17 #201
I've looked into this. After ordering and registering on mobile.co.uk you can download a welcome pack. in this PDF, it tells you to call your new network supplier with your PAC code. You then need to advise mobile.co.uk so the redemption process is in place

What you need to do is call 150 from your mobile. Select the options to leave EE. You will be transfered to retentions dept who will offer you a discount on what you are paying for you to stay with then for another 12 months. Tell them "no thanks, I want my PAC code"

EE will then text you with the code.

Now go and buy the new SIM card through the mobiles.co.uk link in this deal.

Go get yourself a payg SIM card from any network apart from EE.

Use you PAC code with this new network to transfer your number over to them.
That will cause your old EE account to close.

Then call your new payg service provider and tell them you wish to leave and get the PAC code.

Use this PAC code to bring your number back to EE with your new contract.

It's a hassle but it's the only way to do it if you want to keep your old number.
Bear in mind that you may lose a few hours of service both times your number is porting over.

Hope this helps?
Anon
19 Mar 17 #189
You can be o. EE without a contract on PAYG. SIM only is a rolling contract beyond the 12 months. Yes you are porting out to come back and keep your number (as you cannot putt EE contract to EE contract).

I have a 5S and it hasn't stopped me going for this deal - it just runs at 4g like every other network if double speed isn't possible. Yes they send you cheques after submitting the appropriate bills. £12 or £4.50 ...? I suppose if you need 8g not 7g then go for the other deal, but 7g is more than enough for most people and a significant saving.

Hi guys,
Make sense in your opinion get this deal if my smartphone (iphone 5s) can't use their 4g double speed?
I didn't understand how you're gonna get the money back, are they sending you a cheque that you have to bring to your bank? Or they will send the money in your bank account?

Sorry for all these questions but I got an offer with Three (8gb-600min 12£pm) and I don't know which option is the best for me.

Thanks

19 Mar 17 #185
Should you do that before getting this deal or is it sufficient to get PAC codes from EE, sign up to this, port out and then port back?
MeesterX
19 Mar 17 #184
Sorry forgive this stupid question.

What is the difference between "being on EE" and "being on EE contract"?

I started an EE SIM ONLY contract last year. The minimum period expired at the end of Feb but still with EE. Does this mean I can get this deal or do I need to port out and back again?

Or is porting in/out just to keep your number? I'd definitely like to do that.

Sorry if silly question. Any help appreciated.

I haven't come across any rule which says you need to have credit on your account to request a PAC code. A free SIM from any network should work just fine.
However, if you actually want a SIM with credit, then somebody suggested getting an ASDA SIM, which already has a quid's worth of credit on it.
Regarding the one you linked to, Lebara is pretty well-known.

There's no way of telling whether a deal will be coming back or not, but good deals are available on their website most of the time - however it's rare that you get a deal for less than a fiver and contains such a large allowance.

If you've only got 2 or 3 months left on your current contract, I think it would be better to take this EE deal out now regardless. And since you'll be paying for two contracts, you might as well ask Three how much you would need to pay to terminate early. It might be slightly cheaper than actually seeing out the contract to its end.

robo989

That won't be possible directly.
You need to go to a different network and then back to EE.
It's easy enough to do, but you'll have to cough up for a PAYG sim and the usual forced £10 credit.
In the meantime you can still take up this offer, keep the SIM that is delivered until you have done the above. You won't begin your billed period with the new SIM until you have activated it so there's no loss doing that and having to wait a few days.

For those who ordered at a lower cash back rate, mine was only £62 last week, I missed this deal. I have called mobiles.co.uk, I placed my order last Thursday, sim arrived Wednesday, they wanted Monday but I rebooked. Not opened the sim yet, and mobiles.co.uk said they can do the higher cash back, as in this deal. Instead me me returning the sim under the 14 day cooling off period and resigning up.

Had to do another credit check to change the cash back amount.

Said it would show on my account in 24/48hours.

I have to say though the whole call to them took over 31 minutes, on hold for 11 before spoke to someone, and at 10p a minute, I wonder if this is a way to boost profits?

Probably not, you need a data sim for an iPad. I have tried several phone sims and they have never worked.

I'm in this boat as an existing EE customer - so have to Port out of EE to ?? & back in to this EE, Any idea the best method - I recall some O2 payg had to add £10 credit to activate sim to be able to port out again!? (Although you can use the Credit to buy a £10 itunes voucher....

Absolute steal. Used these guys for phones for years now and always had cashback without issue.

17 Mar 17 #110
Mine arrived today. Popped out in the phone and got several texts. first confirmed that BT sport's is included in the contract. I only get an H signal downstairs, but 4G upstairs and about 20Mbs up and down. Big improvement on Giffgaff, which i think is throttled on the O2 network.

Question. If I port my Giffgaff number across to EE can anyone foresee an issue with claiming the cashback as it will show a different number on the monthly bill. At the back of my mind I can remember reading something from a few years back where this was an issue.
theshabster

That's what I was thinking. You'd think these prices would already reflect any increase though with it be over half way through the month.

There's no mention of BT Sport with this deal.. the EE website mentions some have 3 month access, some with 12 month access. Any ideas for which this deal includes?

ordered at 17.15 this friday evening, and processed at 19.15, cant say better than that, shown as dispatched in the my account section by 20:00 hours

on the order form it said dpd Saturday for free so will see if it turns up tomorrow or not. this is very timely as my previous 12m EE cashback ended 10 days ago (was around £3pm after cashback with E2SAVE) and i ported to three payg and topped up £5.

cashback is very easy with this company, mobiles.co.uk or E2save (both the same). just get the correct bill from the EE website & send the relevant part via PDF using the online MY ACCOUNT section of mobiles.co.uk, if porting your number don't forget to update/change to the ported number in the MY ACCOUNT section of mobiles.co.uk, otherwise the initial/ temporary number will be showing, although you have a while to do this as the first cashback bill is not until 4 months time, but better to do ASAP after the porting has been completed

just checked the DPD tracking number from the my account section, showing as delivered on Thu August 18th 2016! just hoping there tracking no is incorrect, edit rechecked at 22.30 hours and now showing correct tracking. Arrived this morning (Saturday), amazing speed of service.

You can still get it if you are on EE already (subject to credit checks etc). It is a new contract though not an upgrade - if you are already on EE contract you need to give notice, port your number out and then back.

Thats what I thought.
I think the 'Customers also receive unlimited minutes, texts and 500MB of data a month for use abroad in the EU.' quote refers to EE plans that are not MAX.
According to e2save this is being sold as a MAX so should be OK - if not then its nearly June :-)

That's exactly what happens. Me EE deal from this time last year has just expired.
You wait until you Bill is generated, download a pdf of it from EE, log into your mobiles.co.uk account and just upload the pdf.
They do take 60 days to send the cheque but I've received everyone due.
Just make a reminder on you calendar app ever 2 months to prompt you to submit the claim.
On my last deal, I uploaded the 1st claim with a bill dated a month early. I had an email the following day from the mobiles.co.uk team to tell me of my error, and that the claim was declined. No dramas, I just waited a few days until the correct monthly bill was generated by EE and re-submitted. Job done, got paid out.
A few years ago they would have invalidated the whole years payments for a mistake like that!
These deals nowadays work perfectly if you just follow the rules and submit the correct bill within the 60 day window.

Anyone know if mobiles.co.uk refer a friend works if I refer someone to this contract? Wording seems to be confusing

https://www.mobiles.co.uk/refer-a-friend

"Refer a friend is only applicable on pay monthly mobile phone contracts and upgrade mobile phone contracts."

So I assume this wouldn't work as this is a 12 month contract?

16 Mar 17 #23
Because it was evident they had no intention of honouring this deal. If you look back at the last thread for this deal from last week many people had their orders cancelled. So to save face they just said I failed their credit check, which is laughable.

Cowboys, because despite that their being no direct financial loss due to their behaviour they've messed up my credit score which is detrimental to me
cmarchant
16 Mar 17 #20
Correct - If this is the same deal as last week, the full 7Gb/month is available as EU data - i.e. it is not limited to 500Mb
Solac
16 Mar 17 #21
How is that a cowboy move? They're a business, they want to take your money, not reject you? Surely a cowboy would have taken your money, got no sim, or not give you the cashback?

They are the same company as Dixons Carphone. Used them for years with no problems on deals like this.
jono8
16 Mar 17 #19
I did one last year through e2save and got every cashback cheque meaning my monthly cost worked out as £4 a month.

For one claim the cheque didn't come for a while so I just went online and clicked the "cheque not received" button and one came a few weeks later.

It is not a scam. Obviously if they go bust then you might have issues but e2save and Mobiles are owned by Carphone Warehouse so it would likely take Dixons/CPW to go bust to give you no hope of getting the cashback...and they have been doing well recently - bbc.co.uk/new…680

darkovo
16 Mar 17 #14
Will give it a go, thanks op
Jakg
16 Mar 17 #15
The dealer gets commission from the network for selling you the contract. The cashback you get is from the dealer - your contract is with the network. So if the dealer goes bust - no cashback. But your contract is still full price. A while back I took out a contract like this and my employer also sold the same contract - the cashback the network was offering was more than the commission they would receive for selling it - so there was a degree of hoping you forget to claim (every three months) which is probably why it's a manual process to claim, and then a cheque you have to cash (not a bank credit).

Having said that - my last two contracts have been with mobiles.co.uk and I've had no issues. Just go into it with your eyes open.
Derek_Duval
16 Mar 17 #12
Same here? All contracts will allow all inclusive allowances to be used in the EU after 15th June anyway.

guilbert53
16 Mar 17 #9
As a person who is wary of scams and other dodgy deals should I worry about these type of deals?

When a sim can cost so much when got through EE direct why are these deals so cheap?

And what happens at the end of the year, does it go back up to full price with no redemptions or what?

Is it a loss leader for a year hoping you will keep it at the end of the year?
