Heated. Just note that the last two car DLC to be released are not included in the season pass (they are on sale individually as part of the Only on Playstation sale), and none of the bike DLC are in the season pass - also set aside plenty of time to be clicking download on all the DLCs after purchasing the season pass! Oh, and the DLCs are all licence-based, as in there's no actual download, you just click purchase on the store and the content is already in the game as part of the patches.

Well I bought it, downloading it right now and it seems that there is a lot of add ons. Been looking for a good racer on PS4.

Don't buy this if you are planning on playing any multiplayer.
It's an absolute garbage and more like destruction derby than a racer. I guess it's ok if you are going to play with a group of friends but if you play with randoms, it's just going to be frustrating because they will just ram into you on purpose and the game isn't clever enough to penalise people who do this, which is why I stopped playing it years ago.
Oh and another thing that annoys me about the single player part of the game is that you ALWAYS start at the back of the grid and unless you drive like a maniac at the beginning and get past all the cars and catch up with the leader early on in the race, you have NO CHANCE to win the race because each race is relatively short.

The game must have changed considerably since you stopped playing - I only started playing this in January and have found it is nothing like what you describe. This game is amazing and multiplayer has been excellent and a lot of fun - the game does a pretty good job of penalising people for doing anything like what you describe, so I'm assuming this must have changed considerably since you stopped playing(?).
I have no idea what this game was like before - it must have been nothing like what it is now. I seriously cannot understand how Sony could ever have closed this studio down - it's an amazing stunning game and I can only assume this has had a total makeover since those days as it seriously makes no sense to me - this is the best racing game I've ever played without any doubt. Also, I don't have any problems winning races on single player mode - I do find that on multiplayer mode, there are lots of players that seem to be ridiculously fast and this is pretty demoralising - I am assuming this is as they know the tracks so well...
Also, I find other racing games like Project Cars total rubbish compared to this and I have both.
I ended up buying the Season Pass and found it's well worth it at the current price - would definitely recommend people get the Season pass if you own this game and are not sure - it makes a big difference having all the extra cars and now feels like a proper game.
The £3.29 deal is also fantastic value for the bikes add-on - this same add-on was £6.49 only last month (and that was meant to be on offer). The bikes handle so differently that despite racing on the same tracks, it's surprisingly like a totally different game and each track feels totally different. A really great game - the only problem I've found is that joining so late makes it pretty impossible for people to set up their own Clubs from zero and have people join them and that's a key part of the game.

Deffo worth a tenner, loads of content and it's a great racer. Don't known if the cheapest it's been but I wouldn't think it would go much cheaper.

I must admit I am too.
I am keen on buying it but there's several add ons, a few versions of the complete game, and then there's a season pass option.
Is there not a definitive edition that gives you everything? I might just buy it on disc second hand and then buy the add-ons.

I tried the crew at some point and wasn't a fan tbh , I love the handling of the motorbikes on TDU , that's what kept me coming back for more , the first person helmet cam was amazing

I read somewhere that something changed and that now if a title is aready on your console, it doesn't show up in the download/purchase list. This would actually make some sense as there would be no need to download something that you already currently have. But it just doesn't work that way. Half of the handful of titles it does bother showing are on my console already. But you're right, it does seem to be a recent thing.

This game is incredible in terms of value for money, and strikes the right balance between arcade gameplay and sim. Really fun to play with a wheel / pedals and the in-car view as well.

If you liked TDU, you'll probably enjoy The Crew. Very similar type of racing game, maybe not quite as fun but decent enough. Should be reasonably cheap now too, although Bikes are part of the Wild Run expansion.

Season pass and Bikes are very tempting, heat!
For anyone debating whether or not to buy base game, it's worth it at 7 quid. I'd say it sits squarely between Project CARS and Grid, fairly arcadey but handles a little like a sim at times. It had a messy launch but is a much better game now. I find it to be a nice, casual game to play; very easy to dip in and out of. Multiplayer is still popular, never have any trouble finding a game.

I'm really confused by the way they have done all these add-ons. I purchased Driveclub full game in Jan on PSN and the bikes expansion last month on PSN - there was only one option available to me when I wanted to add the bikes expansion which was the £6.49 option? Should I have only been charged £3.29 given that I had the full game already(?)
Also - it was painful having to download each free car from the PSN store through trial and error with the standard game - I found there were loads of free cars and other stuff but it took forever as it didn't automatically install or tell you what's free.
I have the Driveclub full game and bikes add-on and have downloaded all the free content. Is the Season Pass worth getting? I'm finding the way they've done the add-ons very confusing. There are ridiculous amounts of add-ons on PSN for this game. Also - for £6.49, I basically got no bikes at all to use lol(??).

PSN has the worst bloody website. I just bought the game and it said error, then I get a message on my phone thanks you've paid. Now I can't log back in to see if I've bought it or not and if they've just robbed me.
Right I've logged back it and the crappy website doesn't even show your purchases. Does anyone know how to see what you've bought?
Should show up in the library section under purchased, far right of the UI.
ra786 to fishmaster
27 Mar 17#27
The whole PSN is terrible. To check your purchases, log in to your account, then click/hover on your user name at the top right of the screen, this will bring up a list of options, from there about half down, you will see "Purchase History". This will then open a new tab (account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com) where you should be able to see everything you've ever bought. Why it has to list everything in a new tab, and a completely different site, I don't know.
So:
Log in> User name at top right> Purchase History> New tab
I have an even worse problem where if I log into the PSN store from my PS3, it shows only a tiny fraction of what I have purchased over the years (18 items, in no particular order whereas it should be well over 100). The PS4 is OK. The Vita is OK. Just the PS3. I have to check my Vita to see what i have purchased on my PS3! And whenever I redownload anything, after having to remember it and search for it, it acts as a new purchase, charging me £0.00. Strange. Contacted Sony, they didn't give a FF. Sent me a standard email about reformatting devices blah blah blah.
I advise everyone to keep those email receipts!

This game has superb weather effects. I have to play all the tracks as if I'm living in Manchester and it's p**sing down all the time. With the free 20GB upgrade there's enough content, the season pass and bikes just make this even better. It's got a decent balance of not too hard to play and not too easy. For some one that generally won't play any racing titles I'm hooked on this game. Cheer OP this made my day been wanting a cheap deal on the extras

Does the PS+ upgrade for £5+ include the season pass? I ask this because I bought it a few days ago. Then I noticed a lot of the DLC was free. So I added them all to my basket and purchased them. I noticed the bikes DLC still cost money so I checked the season pass. It said it was unavailable to me due to all ready owning it?
I never bought the season pass. I had the disc version of driveclub and remember adding the PS+ version to my account when it became available.
