Possibly one of the worst games I've played. Despite the fact the trailer looked terrible I gave the game a go due to the positive reviews . However after literally a few seconds of playing the game I realised that the game was indeed terrible. The graphics look like something from the PS2 era, everything is low texture and low res (I believe the graphics on the XBOX and PC are a slight improvement). The gameplay is fast and smooth which does capture the original Doom arcade formula but its so extremely repetitive and dull with poor and unimaginative level design. There is no sense of slight realism in the weapons, environment or even the depicted violence. Its like playing a cheap cartoonish PS2 game. If you want a decent horror/action game then I'd recommend Alien Isolation or one of the Dead Space games both of which blow Doom out of the water in terms of quality and production values.

I agree with you with a broken heart.
I am a big fan of Doom 2 and that era of fps games and I have zero interest in COD etc
so had high hopes for this game.
I just don't get the praiseed reviews.
I have no issues with arcade-ish run and gun style..but as you mentioned the game looks boring, graphics are poor, level design is so repetitive, dull and indeed looks like a PS2 remaster.
I've played a few hours, and I literally forced myself to play, hoping and waiting for it to get better,I just refused to accept it's not a good game because I have so much nostalgia and great nemories of Doom 2.
remembering great games like Dead Space..even on PS3,this game is so inferior in every aspect.
