not bad, can anyone recommend a budget hdcp 2.2 amp that would go with these?

I bought a Yamaha RX-V481 great amp for the money. I have some Tannoy TFX 5.1's on my setup, so slightly different speaker. Had a Yamaha RX-V373 before and that sounded brilliant too for the price, but had to get rid of that as I needed an amp with HDCP 2.2. I think yamaha do a 381 which is like there base model but that still supports HDCP 2.2. When I bought the 481 I got it for £280, and the 381 was £250, so I spent the extra £30 for the extra features of the 481.

It's 5.1 on the website, there are 5 satellite speakers so one's a center?

Looks very similar to the Boston Soundware XS which was well reviewed.

Boston Acoustics and Denon have same parent company, so likely they are related products. My Soundware XS 5.1s are over 6yrs old now and still going strong. Excellent sound for their size, very discrete if you can hide the sub (I use an adapter to make the sub wireless)

Sounds like an OK deal but I wish I had seen the yamaha 5.1 deal a month ago that includes a receiver

Just out of interest which adapter are you using for the sub?
I have the Soundware XS (BA equivalent of these) and they are terrific speakers when combined with a capable amp.

Got these for £174.99 in boxing day deal price match... Little gutted they dropped so much so quick but hey... Was between these and the Tannoys went for these... On rec from staff... But not sure... Always niggle me as the Tannoys have excellent reviews. No pro review for these...
Sound Ok though and nice and clear. Haven't tried full volume yet lol.

Would these and the subwoofer work with the denon avr-x2200?
Can't remember what kind of plug the sub needs.

Yes and the sub needs a single phono...
Although the AVRX2200 is way better than these speakers.

Hi,
What do you mean way better? The AVRX2200 is a AV receiver?

How are these compared to say a Samsung HW-K450 soundbar?
Undecided whether to go for cheap 5.1 setup or a soundbar...

I think he is implying the amp is too good for these speakers. However that is the amp I'm thinking of getting for these speakers..

Ah I see, I got some mission floor stands speakers but wouldn't these go well with them?

Hi mate, I'd also be interested to know what wireless adapter you are using with the sub. Cheers

It's a Dayton Audio WS-12. Bought mine from Amazon marketplace in late 2015. Works OK. Does add some delay but can fix that in the surround amp by adjusting the speaker distances. Looks like there might be a slightly different model available now - Dayton Audio Sublink - about £15 more than I paid for mine, likely due to exchange rate.
Weren't many options available and googled a few forum threads before settling on that model. Would not have gone for wireless, but wife did not want sub-woofer on display and was snookered by position of fireplace and no carpet to hide cables under.

It wasn't in vain. They managed to earn it a cold vote.
