Maybe wrong but it's an 'educated guess' from someone in a good position to estimate

No, but right now RAM prices are garbage and estimated to stay that way all year. Supply shortages + high demand

no but ddr4 ram prices have skyrocketed since july/august. £70 is a great deal

memory prices are on the rise for a couple of months, and there's also the post- Brexit exchange rate
I'd say it's a good price

being [nearly] the highest price for the last 12 months?
you'd have to be able to see the future to know that

Post brexit price rise is b****t all retailers inflate prices balming pound to usd exchange rate. For everyone curiosity please see exchange rates for last couple of years and how it reflect to retail prices. I can say same about price of fuel at pump. Crude oil is one of its lowest ever but pump price keep going up.
Reassuming someone very rich is not rich enough. But from other side is up to us costumers to decide to buy at given price. If costumers will refuse to buy, demand will fall and by simple economics price will fall. None of retailers want to be left with old stock and storage create costs for retailer as well.

Sucks for SSD prices too :disappointed:

Glad it's not prime only this time. Looking at RAM prices at the minute this is a great deal. Thanks op

Thanks OP - been on the look for some memory for my incoming Ryzen...

oooh higher memory speed really helps with Ryzen as it runs the interchip 'fabric' at the same clock speed as the memory. Having said that i don't know the max memory clock speed for Ryzen at the minute.

You will get a bigger bang for your buck with Ryzen and faster memory.
The infinity fabric that ties the cores together runs at the RAM clock speed so faster ram = faster processing.
Only problem is it's "delivered when available" and as price is £55 less than on Crucial's website then I'd guess that that might be some wait

For the Ryzen I would (and will) buy a 3200mhz instead.

Make sure it is AMP compatible. A lot of users struggle to run more than 2933MHz DDR4 on their CPUs.

if i wanted 32gb would i need mathed pairs as i buidling a pc for video editing for my lad with ryzen, or would higher speed ram be better?

Well that sucks just spent £56 on some patriot viper 4gb x2 ram I thought that was decent at the time since I did have some corsair ram last week on offer for around about the same than by the weekend it shot up to nearly £80!! Bargain at this price wish I'd waited :disappointed:

Would these be safe to overclock to 1.35v? as every other ddr4 ram ive seen seem to overclock to that voltage but i cant find anything on this ram

these apparently are one of the best ddr4 2400 to have. I picked up 16GB for £80 recently and what fantastic RAM  have heat op

says back ordered till the 30th, if i buy today for 70 and the price goes up in a couple of days when it ships do i pay the current price or the new price? sorry for noobish question.
I'm currently clocked at 2933, early bioses, early microcode, plenty of people with other boards have got this RAM to 3200 under Ryzen. I got it to boot windows once at 3200, but it wasn't stable.
Point being, for Ryzen, buy faster than 2400, this ram is 3200, same price as the 3000 and clocks at 3000 rate out the box. Future bioses/microcode will improve this since the RAM is rated in its XMP profile to 3200.

Hopefully that works fine for you and that's a greal deal but for anyone looking to follow suit it is worth noting that purchasing two 2x8GB kits is not the same as a manufacturers retail 4x8GB matched kit. It is probably fine at stock speeds/timings etc. but some boards (and especially early bioses) can have issues when you put together two different kits. As I said. it causes issues particularly if you're planning to overclock and if you're going Ryzen then I'd also have my reservations given its numerous memory issues due to the infancy of the new chipset/mobos.
Good luck with it though!
Sadly the deal seems to have expired now :disappointed:

I got this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMK16GX4M2B3200C16-Vengeance-DDR4-Memory/dp/B0143UM4TC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1490694529&sr=8-1&keywords=corsair+vengeance+16gb+ddr4+3200 which was cheaper than 3000 ddr4 unbelievably. Sure its more expensive, but worth it

So that is Hynix which is not the best clocking memory. Nor is Micron (Crucial). Once again the best RAM for Ryzen is meant to be Samsung B-Die. Obviously anyone buying would have to check this out, but I believe that SOME Corsair uses those chips, and some (many) ADATA ones do to.
Point being, for Ryzen, buy faster than 2400, this ram is 3200, same price as the 3000 and clocks at 3000 rate out the box. Future bioses/microcode will improve this since the RAM is rated in its XMP profile to 3200.
