Absolute bargain. Cheapest its ever been. A good price is usually £6-£7. This vampire film is Guillermo del Toro's directorial debut. It's subtitles only ofcourse but a very good film. Also stars Ron Perlman in his first collaboration with Del Toro

well i liked this film. It is of course low budget and slow for some. But it has its merits

That's it! Watch-like I was meant to write, vaguely closer to the truth

100% agree with Tomharris79656 above. Saw a couple del Toro films so thought I would check out the back catalogue. Mostly his stuff is interesting, engaging and entertaining. However this film is really poor, it sucks harder than a Dyson. Check out del Toro's later stuff, but avoid this one.

Is this the one set in South America with the watch-making device? I quite enjoyed it.

Reviews are pretty average but I really like 'Dont be afraid of the dark'!

Frank Sinatra once sang " Regrets I've had a few" Well this film is rite up there with some of mine 2 hours of my precious life wasted and there is nothing i can do about it to get them back! I saw pan's labyrinth thought it was really good so sticking with the del toro theme saw the orphanage again good film so carrying on bought Cronos! The disappointment that followed could be likened to standing in dog poo with brand new trainers! Would rather of given my money to a big issue salesman it has been catapulted into my top 5 worst ever films! Take my advice save your money!!!!.....

Vast majority seem to like the film, though i guess its not to everyone's taste. Its an original vampire story though and worth seeing. Vast majority of all reviews on any site for it are good to excellent.
One of his other early films Devil's Backbone is well worth a watch to
