ordered , last time I bought these was about 5 years ago and I bought far far too many (like 30 odd boxes or something) as they were about 20p a box.
The use by date was 2014 but I used them last year just fine. If the pollen count was particularly bad I'd take one at night and one in the morning rather than the 1 a day it advises.
Did the job perfectly and probably would still be okay for this year but at this price I can afford to throw away my 9 remaining boxes and replace with new stock , happy days

Well, I have worked in the industry for nearly 10 years now. There hasn't been a verified study that suggests expired medication is toxic, but it has been shown that it can lose its efficacy.
Nothing bad will happen to you if you take expired allergy tablets, other than that you might not relieve yourself of the symptoms.

Glad to hear that definitively from someone with a medical/pharmacology degree.

The only risk is that the medication doesn't work anymore. So for things like pain killers or allergy tablets, the worst that can happen is you still have a headache, runny nose or whatever.
Obviously, if you are taking a tablet that you need to survive, the risk becomes much bigger. But expired medication won't make you ill.

I didn't give any advice nor did I say it's always safe. I gave the facts and an example of an exception. Clearly there are others and it's down to the person to look up what they have if they want to take the risk. People shouldn't be hoarding antibiotics anyway!

Dangerous advice. You might be ok, but you might not be. Also, people reading this might think this applies to medications other than antihistamines. For example, if they take expired tetracycline/doxycycline, they might well die of Fanconi Syndrome.

That's because pollen can be absorbed through the semi-permeable membrane that makes up your cornea (eyeball), covered by the aqueous membrane. Some people have 'clear glass' prescription spectacles made up for the same reason.

Me too! This is a condition thought to be genetic info here FYI:
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) along with Zinc (*ate, like gluconate) is natural and works better at preventing cold/flu in the first place... although not sure about hayfever.

This is the generic name for 'Clarityn', among others, and could therefore be taken instead of Ceterizine or Chlorphenamine-everybody reacts differently to different antihistamines... But there's no FREEDELIVERY offer... Still a great bargain though...

they have some good value painkillers too even taking into account the delivery charge - I recently ordered these in various quantities

Chlorphenamine Tablets 4mg x 28 (Piriton alternative)
Needed a decent supply due to a chronic back issue - mainly ordered for the gel which seems super cheap compared to other prices I found
Im also kicking myself as I chucked out some expired codeine tablets which cost a fortune to buy
- didnt realise they were so expensive at the time as they were given to me by a relative

They are not seriously risky, most of the time the expiry date is arbitrary. Most drugs will last years past the expiry date before you would notice the difference and even if it doesn't, it's a really small possibility (again) that the breakdown products are harmful. Expired drugs are risky for things like epilepsy where even a few % difference in potency can have a big impact.
