I had 3 panda cars chase me once, mounting the kerb and almost knocking me off my bike, when I was saving my lights for out of town (10 miles). I thought it was better to have them on in the pitch black rather than the lit streets. They seemed to agree and sent me on my way.

`Slightly off topic but did any one hear James Whale whaling on LCB about the flashing mode on bike lights and they should be banned. Well some might use that mode when getting double the life of the battery on a journey and not having the light failing before arriving at destination?

This is cheap. I might see if Evan cycles price matches and then use double up with the Tesco vouchers. After a volt but more output.

I would buy the Cateye, and not only because it is a better brand than the Planet X but because Wiggle's return service is second to none and they have free returns, so if it develops a fault it will be easier to return than with Planet X.

When I click the Get Deal link it still shows as £12.19 and it goes in the basket at this price.

I guess it comes down to how much importance you place on buying a branded product, as there will always be cheaper non-branded options available. For example, you can buy a 400 lumen own brand front light from Planet X for £11.95 delivered. Link.

Doubt I'd ever pay £40 for it but it's a great price at £12.19. 200 lumens is enough to be seen and unlike some cheap alternatives this won't set your house on fire.
Opening post
usb rechargeable.
cheap for a 200 lumen branded light!
...at this price I bought 2 (plus a 3rd as a spare!)
