great deal.but will abstain from voting as it's Archos, horrid awful company that throws it's customers in front of a bus at the earliest opportunity possible.

Pretty sure Archos are French...
Also, having owned a few of their products over the years, I can say with total confidence that you will end-up wanting to throw this against a wall. Don't put yourself through that. Archos devices are always relatively cheap and well-specced but the firmware/software is just atrocious. It's a shame really.

Had one and the screen smashed whilst packed in baggage- uneconomical to replace. I've only let ever broken a screen by dropping so I was very disappointed

Good price.
So heat.
But buyer be warned.
Archos don't have a good reputation. And for good reason.
Rather than being a dick about it, I'd just advise potential buyers to explore other options and be award that A LOT of people on here have probably experienced the "joys" of Archos customer service/faulty hardware.

Not for the faint hearted but here, have some Android 6 Marshmallow goodness for your new cheap as chips Archos 55 Cobalt Plus
Looks like a similar spec to the Doogee X6Pro with a better rear camera. The X6Pro was pretty snappy buy had issues with taking videos within applications. This was identical with the X5Pro using the same chip set.

Don't do it.
Had a few Archos products in the past. Never again. Without exception they have been well specified but turned out to be utterly unreliable.

I suspect because he read your comment as 'beggars can't be choosers' but FWIW I totally agree with you. And I don't cut corners on my phone because it's one of those things that when you need it most you can bet it won't work.
I wonder what happened to Archos, back in the day they were a major iPod competitor.

If you can only afford £75 for a phone, then do yourself a favour buy a £50 phone from China and have a slap up meal at Harvester/Toby with the change.

What are you taking issue with? I don't understand what, "you calling people on this site for wanting things cheap" means? For you actually read what I wrote?

The whole reason we are on this site is to get the product we want for the cheapest possible price.
That said on this deal in particular it is a decent phone for just over £75.
I just take issue with you calling people on this site for wanting things cheap.

agreed, however I would want the expected 70 odd quids worth of value
as a deal this certainly qualifies.

People seem to want the latest, greatest devices for pocket change. So the people that are likely to moan about it not having a fingerprint scanner would complain that it's running a Mediatek MT6735P with an aging version of Android and only 16gb of internal storage and that Archos don't have a very good track record with their phones.
Personally, it's a cheap phone so you've got to expect not to have the best specs, and as was previously mentioned, it's from the UK so you get warranty. It's not for me but it's a cheap phone that might be just the right fit for someone.
Archos hasn't a good name regarding support so don't automatically expect upgrades to Android 6. Specs wise, the processor is probably the weakest aspect but I don't think anyone can heavily criticise at that price point.

On the surface, it seems like a lot of phone for £77. UK delivery is a big plus.
Android 5.1 might be an issue but I'm sure someone will find out if its due updates.
I know we'll get the usual 'can get 4Gb/64gb for few notes more from Hong Kong if you don't mind waiting 4 weeks & no warranty' etc

I don't think the lack of a fingerprint scanner would be the biggest concern with this phone...
