i have to agree this seems a bit pointless when phones have an auto lock feature already. if i want to share my phone with my kids or anyone else for that matter, however old i put the phone into guest mode. my kids mess up my phone folders and change settings i didn't even know existed so guest mode is the solution to this.

Use a Screen 'Pattern-Lock'.
To lock the Phone altogether, then yes it then would I suppose ..... :-)

This locks individual apps, so if your kids etc use your phone they can't use certain apps

Good for phones that don't have this feature built in I suppose?
Isn't it an Android feature now that if you have a screen lock (I have a Fingerprint lock + Knock Code backup) that it wont show the contents of notifications until you unlock the device anyway? For me this would be entirely redundant.
