I have got two of these - one for home and one for work - I think this was on a lightning deal for £17 a bit ago so may be worth watching out for it in the future. The nicest tasting coffee I have found to use with this is Tchibo Family coffee. You can find it cheap (about £2 for 250g) in most Polish/Eastern European stores. Some coffees can end up a touch bitter but this one is really mellow and makes the same brew every time. I am sure this won't appeal to everyone but it is worth a try if you like a mellower coffee.

This makes brilliant coffee, which I am drinking right now. I like the metal filter you can get for an extra couple of pounds, and find that fine ground (e.g. lavazza) works well. It does take a bit of effort to push the plunger down, as it is airtight but the lovely cup of coffee you get makes it worth while. Hot milk in first keeps the temperature up, too since the water's got to be off the boil. Good deal at this price, I think.

I use an aeropress in work. It makes a great coffee!
Bought one just before Christmas from Amazon Warehouse. Fantastic for making a lovely cup of coffee for one or two people, but not very practical if you're serving up for a bigger group.
Used mine this morning in fact. Makes such a nice cup.
Price is about right, no? Is it cheaper than normal?

Use mine daily. Paid about 25 with the bag from Amazon. Worth paying normal price in my opinion if you enjoy your coffee. I like hot and black so I add boiling water after the coffee is made ( americano ish )

Brought one a couple of years ago, makes a lovely cup of coffee
I bought on that deal too, £17 is the lowest it's ever been. I was watching it for a couple of years! If someone really wanted one I wouldn't recommend torturing themselves waiting for that price to come around again.
I think it's pretty good. But it has a few downsides, just for balance. I think the rubber part of the plunger in mine is already coming loose, though I don't think it will fall off. Coffee is hard to make anything other than tepid, after you've faffed about waiting for the water to go off boil, then waited again for it to brew. Even after you add more hot water or milk. You won't get more than two cups out of it, two it's really pushing it. It's more of an individual thing.
I like it though, coffee tastes good and you can't smash it washing it under the tap like a glass one!

Yep, £17 lightning deal here too - I think I'd wait if I was after one. I produces decent coffee, esp. like the easy cleaning of it.

I don't rate it. Dunno what kind of coffee you like but I like stove top and make lattes with it.

Only started drinking it at all because Waitrose give it away free. Was never a fan. It's certainly n no worse than the swill they give away.

I don't mind the waitrose free coffee. You don't really like coffee but you got one of these?

I'm not a coffee lover and I know it's not good. Or at the very least, it's not strong. Mind you they are churning it out on an industrial scale because it's cheap in the cafe. The free stuff from the machine doesn't even pass as drinkable.
I like the hazelnut syrup they put in coffee. It's disgusting in other drinks, I've tried. Plus visitors like coffee.

I have a cafetiere. Is the aeropress significantly better?
Rom to doberman
5 Mar 17#32
Yes, but it's obviously not as voluminous as a cafetiere. I like the stovepot for espresso.
Rom

Fair dos, yeah drinkable is probably my best description of waitrose coffee. Each one costs them 8p apparently!

That's really interesting to know! I have a friend who gets annoyed by the e-mail they send telling you how much you have saved on coffee. I am going to enjoy telling her that

Haha I've used it myself, theres a young guy who supervises the self service checkout at my local one who insists on thoroughly scrutinising my receipt even though I answer yes to "did you put it through?"
For some reason this really annoys me.
He knows they cost 8p now.
Last time I asked him if he knew what a jobsworth was? He said "I'm just trying to do my job!" Then I felt a briefly guilty.
This should have been on the whinging thread

Just a heads up if you're going to buy this, I spent a while looking around for the best deal a couple of weeks ago, and Rave coffee are doing it for £26 delivered with a bag of coffee (I got sent a lovely Kenyan single origin with mine):

Costs a bit more than the aeropress alone, but much cheaper than the amazon press and a bag of rave coffee individually
