Good price for quality dumbbell set. Ideal for beginners and maybe for adding extra weights later, if you don't give up in the first 3 months

I ordered a full set (dumb-bells, two bars, another curling bar and many many kilo plates) by post, in installments over several weeks. Never used them.
You should see the size of our postwoman now though!

Good price. I was looking at the vinyl set thats dropped from £30 to £20. What are the pros of the cast over the vinyl?

The main one is size. Vinyl weights are around double the thickness of iron plates, so you can fit significantly less on a bar. They're also considerably less durable and have zero resale value (iron weights tend to hold their value).

If you can get cast iron weights for around a pound (£!) a kg then always a bargain! I have a mixture of vinyl and cast iron and the vinyl ones have started to split.

I bought a set about ten years ago from Argos. You should've seen the cashier sweating buckets trying to carry it over to me. And then me trying to carry it to the car, lol.

I ordered the Bodymax Deluxe 30kg dumbells from Amazon last week.
You should have seen the state of the DPD driver carrying them to my front door.

Bought these earlier in the year but for a few extra £ because my uni gym bumped the price up massively to try and cover the cost of the new sports centre they built (that is miles away from where most students live).
Decent set of dumbbells that will definitely be more than enough for those looking to start out getting in shape, more experienced lifters will probably find they'll quickly plateau with 20kg weight though (10kg on each bar). Build quality is good and the spinlock collars do well at holding the discs on the bar securely.
For those who are looking to start getting in shape at home, this website does a good job of covering most muscle groups using just dumbbells :stuck_out_tongue:

I got these at Xmas. First set had to go back because the nut wouldn't tighten on one of the threads, second set were fine. I did read that the nuts keep coming loose, but if you do them nice and tight it's not a problem. Bargain.

Where did you get those from mate? No offence to people here but 10kg per dumbbell is a bit light.
