All poultry have had to be kept indoors since December so no UK birds were free range although some still claimed to be as regulations alow that if they are kept indoors for up to 12 weeks! ( It only takes about 8-12 weeks to raise a meat chicken to maturity). Fair enough Tesco see https://www.gov.uk/guidance/avian-influenza-bird-flu#biosecurity. I think the restrictions my be lifted in some areas already.

And when you think about "shortcuts" allowed to use some words for description of the product I do wander how many days did chicken have to be corn fed for the meat to be allowed to be called "corn fed".
Just like some cows have to only "visit" Scotland for a limited time to be classified as "Scottish", any many other products "labelled" the same way to justify higher price without any or very little difference in taste or quality.
Just another one of my "do they think we are stupid" thoughts ;-)

Thought these would be free range being Finest, but they aren't.

No, they're just fed an unnaturally high carbohydrate diet.

They were labelled as free range, this week that label has been removed?
