I can't see Nintendo passing up the opportunity to charge people for re-buying their VC titles on Switch, especially given how bare the launch lineup is.

I'd also like to see crossbuy and cloud saves, like on Sony's platforms.
All the various VC 'issues' just mean I end up not buying anything from it.
One thing to remember is that these are just ROMs running on an emulator, once the emulator is written most of the work is done (with exceptions of course).

The 20 seconds wasn't the only difference. The Wii U versions also supported direct play on the Gamepad.

You could transfer VC games from wii to wii u by paying a small charge depending which console it was. Plus it needs to be out for wii u, or you can;t play it.
I hope they do this again at least, but very possibly not as it does not link to the 3DS in the same way, which is a shame for NES games and the like...

Which was a crazy way of doing it. Once I'd transferred my old Wii into my Wii U, discount options appeared, which would've saved me all of twenty seconds for £1.79 a pop.
Nintendo really need to get their eShop right with the Switch. It was getting halfway decent on the U, but cross-platform downloads are few and far between.
Would be great to know now, given Shovel Knight is about to increase and price and charge for DLC across all platforms, unless you've already bought it...

Or perhaps they could get with the times and tie your purchases with your account. You should not have to pay anything again for stuff you have already bought. Of course that seems unlikely considering they have been avoiding questions about the VC.

I wouldnt be surprised If you have to buy them again, they wont be saying anything because you wont be able to transfer purchases to the switch. They will prob keep it quiet until release

I doubt it. Nothing has been announced about Switch VC however so there's still hope. Personally I'm not buying anything VC on my Wii U until I know more...

There's some chance but absolutely nothing confirmed. I'm personally expecting that the Switch will charge a small amount to bring games over from the Wii U. Fingers crossed that it does it for free though!
