I didn't have boxes and I think I got about £70 for the pair. Mind made up when the smash bros adaptor came out but didn't work for any other games.
You can use these Hori ones on Wii games as well (Mario kart for example), virtual console, the list goes on. Supposedly they're made using the original moulds so other than the weight discrepancy/no analogue triggers they're as close as you'll get to GC pads on the Wii u.

These are great, I've got the full set of four (sold my pair of wavebirds to pay for them).
Full compatibility with Nintendont as well for people with a Wii U who still have some GameCube games.

I was just about to ask why you'd sell your Wavebirds, but then I looked on eBay and they're worth a fortune! I still have the boxes for mine too! I think I'll start keeping mine in the safe from now on, haha

Yes, works spot on with 'nintendont' it has a nunchuck connector so it plugs in to the Wii remote....only small negative is it has no rumble so that also means it feels a little light in hand compared to the original.

So this controller works with the GameCube emulator on Wii U?

Almost tempted to grab another one. Such a lovely looking thing

Yes that is the correct picture  they are GameCube shaped pads made by Hori. I have two myself and mainly use them for GameCube games on the Wii and Wii U.
