Been to my Tesco this evening, living the high life, when there I spotted WD 3TB My Book Desktop External Hard Drive reduced from £109 to £75. Seems a very reasonable price.
Was vert tempted to buy one, but do I really need 12 backup copies of the 250gb ssd?

Which shop was that? And do you know if it was nationwide ?

The lady at the till when I asked for a price check said it was (I checked to see if they had either mispriced or if it was any less).

Just called my local store in Milton Keynes and the price is still £109 (same as on tesco direct) so I am guessing it is not national...

That isn't the one advertised in Tesco that is showing in the picture ! but the WD my book 3tb is £74.89 and I know this because I pop down not long ago and got one! Still showing £106 online
I might go back and buy one, my old 1TB drive must be getting on a bit by now and I can then post back with the barcode.
This one is in a green box and has a two year warranty. It is the same design as the eBuyer link which is why I posted it.

If it's the one shown in the picture the new 2016 model it says 2 year warranty on box but states 3 year warranty on WD website. I bought a 4tb one last week and when I called wd to confirm I was told it was a 3 year warranty. The two year warranty is for the US market. You can check the serial number on the box with WD before you open it. As long as it's an EU model and not a grey import it will be a 3year warranty. The older model that actually looks like a book is only 2 year warranty.
That is the older model and has been replaced with the newer one shown in the listing. The one you purchased only has a 2 year warranty in all regions.

Look out for yellow RTC manual reduction on these. Durham had them at £40 each!

I just purchased one from Tesco Extra in Middleton. Few left on the shelf.
It is the older model that has been discounted. The newer one with the Xbox Oneish exterior is still £109.
The older one is USB 3.0 though, even though it isn't mentioned on the outside of the box.

The time looks as if their has been an error on the price integrity system. So this would be rectified at midnight. Used to work for Tesco. Price integrity aswell

I got one of the WD 3TB for the Mac from Tesco Lakeside, it was £71.14, said £109 on the shelf. There may one or two left if anyone is after them. They can be easily reformatted for the Windows.
Thanks mro2011, without your headsup, I wouldn't have bothered looking.
