I've bought a few on these over the years - as give away presents when visiting less well off countries. It is the 512MB RAM that seems to be the biggest issue as trying to run all the different messaging apps these people seem to need to run brings the phone to its knees.
O2 are flogging off "nearly new" LG K4 phones for £19.99 at the moment; so for £5 more you get double the RAM, twice the storage, double the screen resolution, a much better camera, an LED flash, a front facing camera and a better looking phone. Oh, and the Android version is later a well.
Nuts. This post reminded me to go and order another K4 but looks like O2 has doubled the price now. So ignore my suggestion above, sorry.
99p http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221386609531 although you can cheap-out further via 99 UScents via foreign sellers, but probably lose the benefit in the exchange rate.

I got a K4 when they were reduced too. Can't complain for £20 but wouldn't pay £40 for it now though.

My wife had one of these, she only uses Facebook and with 4gb memory it ran out of space and won't update anything. I recently got her the K4 from O2. Already came unlocked and is much better

Yes, but Daniver edited their post with an updated comment to say it is no longer available, which you then proceeded to quote so had presumably read it.
I have one of these in the car and use it as a sat nav - works perfectly well as that.

What's the sketch with unlocking these? Noticed several people post eBay links to getting phones unlocked but you have to give your IMEI - is that even safe?

The 4Gb Flash memory limit is the biggest limitation with this phone. I have a 4 Gb Huawei Y3 and previously had a 4 G Huawei Y550. What I found is that as soon as you log into the google play store, google starts downloading updates that fill up the entire 4 Gb and still wants more space. You can not transfer this Google bloatware to an SD card.
Fortunately the Vodafone Smart 7 first and both of the Huawei phones have a file manager app built in which means that you can install apps from elsewhere and so stop Google from taking over your phone.
What I have done to my Huawei Y3 phone is to install the Amazon app store. There are about 30 AAA games free on amazon underground that would cost a lot from Google and so I play games and download Amazon Prime videos to my SD card on my Huawei Y3. You can get the amazon app from here:
