2 year warranty on this one. Which should be plenty as the robotic overlords will have risen up by then anyway

This is really only efficient for hard floors. Reviews are saying it's not so good for carpet.
Its climbing ability is just 1cm so it might get stuck on a rug.
Not a bad deal if you want it to just vacuum hard floors though.

Question: Does it return to docking station
Answer: No docking station, have to plug it into a socket
By Carole Watson on 28 December 2016
Shame... If it had a docking station I'd snap it up...

I bought the red one from Amazon for £80 just after Christmas and it's spot on for the laminated floors down stairs. I just switch it on when I'm off out . I had bought a cheaper one from Maplin and only had it a couple of days as it broke it also kept getting stuck on rugs and things . This one is far superior it has never got stuck once and if it does get stopped it just reverses .

Btw it will work on carpet but it is not powerful enough to replace your dyson say .

I have a similar haier one that has the mop function too (around £100 or so).
Really good on the kitchen floor / hard floors, crap on new thick carpet, not quite as rubbish on old work carpet.
Won't suck up heavy debris, by heavy I mean anything the weight of a tictac, but does a decent job of dusting.
£66 a decent price, but the best function of the haier is the RTH and being able to set timers etc.

heat for price, but now not a fan of these after owning 2 different models. I have paid over £100 for both models I have owned.
My wife or daughters head hair caused the 2 spinning brushes underneath to tangle up, so you have to keep on top of it by unscrewing the brushes and removing the hair.
the capacity isn't great either, they only have a small tray.

So if I switch it on before I go to work then an hour and 20 mins later the battery goes flat. When I get in I then have to wait 5 hours while it charges up again so I can use it for another 80 mins. Seems a bit of a gimmick to me. Would be much better if it recharged itself itself during the day in a docking station e.g did 15 mins of cleaning and then recharged itself for an hour or so before recommencing cleaning et al. Still I guess that would be more expensive.

I got one last year and a couple of months ago returned it as the battery failed. They are good and somewhat powerful. However there are three major issues.
I 1) we have a small carpet and the thing gets stuck in the climbing up or down half the time. So it's really annoying to keep having to nudge it. (it would get stuck trying to get up or down where wheels do not have enough traction thus it just seems stays on vacuum in its exact location and wearing out the edge of the carpet)
2) it doesn't follow the edges so it tends to randomly bounce things leaving the parameter of the room dirty and full of fluff and breadcrumbs as it whisks them away from with its uni whiskers.
3) cleaning the mechanism requires removing a screw whereas the red version has a removable bracket
Lidl were quite cool I returned it to the store for a refund 7 months after purchase as the battery degraded suddenly to about 3 minutes.

22 Feb 171#54
Surely the most unnecessary device ever invented. Hoovering the main part of the carpet takes 5 minutes in a regular sized house, its getting into the corners, doing the stairs, behind and under furniture etc. that takes all the time, and this won't do any of that.

How does this deal with an annoying cat that likes to leave me presents on the rug for when I get home from work...?
LondonPaul
22 Feb 174#56
Liked the look of it initially but then realised that this robotic hoover will literally terrify my dog who will develop fear-fueled diarrhoea and the robot will silently smear it all round my wooden floors every day (except for the corners as it can't reach those)... Fab!!!

Yeah, it is steep - we got ours at nearly half price and it was still a lot! But it really does work brilliantly - the Dyson is gathering dust as it's not been used since we bought it. Plus you can get a cat as well and let it ride around on top

Now if they brought out a small version of these for the car that would be a good invention. For the house I am not so sure. How does it cope with stairs or do they have a version with legs. This maybe a good price but when comet was closing they were selling these off for 30 quid. Obviously made for the lazy man or wo man.

Not a bad price but having had 2 (different brands) in the past, one with a docking unit and the other without, I preferred the one with the docking option otherwise it would just stop in some random places after it had cleaned and I had to "hunt the robot cleaner" party!! For the price this is a good find as it comes with a 2 year warranty. You can pay £700 for a robo vac!! They even wash your carpets these days  .
Not sure if the LiDl one has a programmable schedule for certain days and times to clean?
I still use the docking unit one now (3 years on) and no issues. Worth every penny IMO.

I would love to have one that can go up and down the stairs (and I don't mean bouncing down when the sensors don't stop it!). I have heard that they are designing one that can do just that but would be a bit scary to watch! reminds me of those creepy horror movies with the girls running up and down the stairs with their heads back to front.

Bought one and it's doing a good job on short pile carpet, going under furniture, reversing itself if gets stuck. Not picking up larger objects or anything tricky like thread stuck to the carpet. But the kids Lego is safe! Seems to be getting into corners well. Really good on hard floors. Cat loves it!
The wife says this thing is useless. been less than 28 days since I purchased. I believe LIDL have a no quibble refund policy if not completely satisfied, so thinking of returning it, anyone confirm?
