I am totally shocked at this. I get all of this and pay £12 per month and Three (3) (or Tree, if you live in Ireland) told me I was getting this half price. I have been a customer of them for about 10 years. So mines is a rubbish deal?

That is the difference. The deal in this post is an essential plan, which includes no EU usage. I'd say your deal is better.

Okay, thanks for telling me that. Tomorrow I am going to contact Three (3) and question my "half price" deal that's been that for years. I thought I had won a watch with my £12, but actually there are better deals they have not told me about. Thanks again.

Like others got this Essential plan for £9, about 4 months ago - was a hotdeal here. Was on their Three 3-2-1, as a light user previously, but they switched on 4G. 60/70/80 speeds usually and best ever was 104 Mbps, so no complaints. Vodafone TOTAL sh#te here, 150 kbps (yep kbps) if you get anything at all - been promising upgrade for years, the lying toads. And folk stay with them !

Don't trust Quidco cashback on this. I've switched to this plan some time ago, the cashback rate was £50, I got £30. When I complained, Quidco said the retailer didn't agree to £50 as not all terms and conditions have been met. Unfortunately I was unable to get more information what they meant. It should be either declined or full cashback received. Just be aware not to count on cashback.

Three has today (July 26) unveiled its new range of Essential plans – a cost-effective set of tariffs that gives customers great value, flexibility and the freedom to select a plan that offers the basics they need, without having to pay for the stuff they don’t.
Based on current customer usage and behaviour, Three has created the new plan for those who want a no-frills package and to be able to stay in control of their use and spend. The new Essential plans come with 4G at no extra cost on compatible devices and will consist of a number of ‘no-frills’ 24-month contract plans, available to purchase on a range of different phones, plus a host of 1 month and 12-month SIM plans.
The Essential plans are aimed at customers who don’t regularly go abroad and therefore have no need for Three’s Feel at Home service; people who don’t need to use their phone as a hotspot and those that don’t tend to regularly call customer service numbers.
Users will have the flexibility to make both short and long term changes to their plan for the duration of the contract. So whether it’s adding extra data to take you through to the end of the month, an option to use your phone as a personal hotspot or extra minutes for the remainder of the contract, you’ll be free to make alterations to the tariff as and when you please.
Three’s current plans have had a makeover and are now called Advanced plans – these plans offer customers everything on the new Essential plans but includes Feel At Home and the option to use your phone as a personal hotspot. Any new customers to Three, will receive an Amazon voucher, ranging from £25 - £50 depending on which plan they choose**.
Danny Dixon, Director of Customer Strategy at Three said: “At Three we’re constantly looking at ways of extending the range of tariffs on offer to our customers as to ensure we account for all different types of mobile phone users – ranging from the smartphone obsessed, right through to the more infrequent users.
“While we remain extremely proud of the unique perks we offer on our Advanced plans, such as Feel At Home and tethering, we appreciate that not all of our customers use their phone abroad regularly or use their phone as a hotspot. These new Essential plans set out to provide a no frills alternative for these customers, providing them with the option to cut out the stuff they don’t need, and get the best value for the stuff they really do. We’re also delighted to be able to offer all new customers an Amazon voucher, just a small way to say ‘thank you’ for joining us on Three.”
Customers wishing to sign up for an Essential plan can do so by heading to their local Three store or online at http://www.three.co.uk from July 19.

On the listing it says essential, so yeah, it doesn't include roaming in other countries (advanced plan).
But still a good deal, if you don't need it.

9 pounds/month (essential package, no eu roaming no tethering included) last OCT. 30.08 quidco and 25x2 (amazon voucher) refer a friend, both were paid after a few chases. So works out just less than 28 pounds/year (2.33/month).
Refer a friend's still on and if you search the forum, there are tricks to follow to get both QUIDCO and REFER A FRIEND.

Looking for a sim only deal for my son - having bought him a sim free iPhone from John Lewis. If I ordered this online are they usually quick to arrive? His birthday is Monday. Ideally want a 1 month contract only and not 12 though :/

Great deal but the deal has been running since the start of the year so don't think there should be a rush to buy. They keep extending the expiry of the deal.
I've not seen this at £10 but on site now is the deal at £9 ( .../view/content/mbasket?ID=1523 in the store) but on a plan this cheap I think they ban tethering and 'Feel at home' facility. It really is calls, texts, data for the phone only...
