440 teabags for £3.99 is a decently good price. Can't find anywhere cheaper.

They contain 20g per bag. Normal bags have over 50% more tea, which make this poor value.

If you like a good gold looking cups, then try Aldi's gold about £1:38 ish for 80. I really am a very fussy tea drinker!! I'll try several different teas then eventually find one that suits my taste buds at the time. Then, all of a sudden (in a few was/months, depends) It happens again. I try M&S all ranges. Yorkshire tea all blends inc Gold, lots of the Twinnings, even supermarket stronger blends. Then I tried Aldi's Gold & they are really nice. A nice dark cups depending ho long you stew for. If I want a really strong cup then, occasionally I'll put 2 in!! I love my Tea! Talking of which, I'm going to go & make one. Enjoy which ever you enjoy. It's not all about the cheapest. As they say, You get what you pay for!!

It's the same old story with these and any other teas, if you prefer a better blend of leaves then you will pay more. The companies have to cover a broad spectrum of customers.

These normally seem the leftovers from normal tea production bagged... If you don't believe me then open a bag of this rubbish and compare with a decent quality tea brand you'll soon see the difference!

That's what they may seem, (and they're not sweepings either) but manufactured usually using the CTC process (crush, tear, curl) to exacting standards for tea bag use. Of course more or less lower grade tea (eg Russian) is included in most blends according to the specified price/quality. It's actually quite a complex and scientific process!

That's a shame. Still, cheaper than elsewhere! Worth noting that Morrisons are now doing 480 of the proper Typhoo bags for a fiver.

Are these the rubbish 'one cup' teabags or proper ones? 'One cup' bags are far too weak for me so would be using two at a time!

Unfortunately, it is a one cup tea bag.

Even if you do use 2teabags for 1 decent cup, it'll still only cost you 2pence a cup. Not exactly costing the earth. So, go on, be a little devil & try them!!
