Lovely job: Ordered. I've been waiting for a good GPS watch with bluetooth music at under £100. Have a half marathon in 13 days, this might be a nice little treat for the next few runs before I ease off the week before!
I am now equipped with the hotukdeals favourite bargain phone - the redmi Note 3 special edition, along with the best budget bluetooth headphones QCY QY8 (they were under £8 on aliexpress a while back).
Some amazing kit for under £250 and hopefully good for 2-3 years, rather than around £1200 if I went with apple watch, phone, headphones. Still love the apple kit, but it needs to be good for 5-7 years of use to invest.

Brought one at Christmas for 99,returned it a week later, great idea and nice watch, but it never syncs to your phone correctly. Read up on it big problem with earlier models.

Anyone know if it has phone notification now?

I had one of these, I hated it, the synch to phone via TomTom app is so slow and cumbersome. the screen quality is awful and hard to see properly.

just bought a Samsung fit2 for sending price & it blows away the old TomTom. I ran half marathon last weekend and GPS bang on.

HRM is great, and pings you all night while asleep (every 10 mins) and you have a graph of HR all night.

Integration with my S7 is superb. it's also so small and light never take it off......

just pointing out in case anyone on the fence about watch to get. so glad I got rid of TomTom.

I was wondering about the difference between the 'Spark' in the original post, and the 'Runner 2' in post #4, and found this (in case it helps someone):

The hardware and software are the same on both watches, the only difference is in the bands and the marketing. The Spark is meant as a day-to-day watch so the strap is slimmer and all black. The Runner2 is marketed for sports so the band is a bit thicker and is multi-coloured.

Runner 2 music doesn't have a HRM hence the lower price.
To the guy who has a Samsung Fit 2, I've got one too, and a S3 Frontier (and an S2). The HRM on all of those is useless, even more useless when running... The TomTom HRM is the best wrist mounted optical sensor you can buy... the GPS is better too.

Glad you sorted the voucher code thing out in the end.

Fine gps watch for gentle use but I really didn't get on with it as its pickup rate was pants. Parkrun never got past 2.8 miles and if there's any trees around then it misses satellites completely.
If you're running in. The open then its ok but if not buy a decent watch like the suunto ambit 3 or garmin fenix. Expensive but worth it.

Garmin fenix is way too expensive. Forerunner 235 is a fine alternative and picks up satellites in a few seconds whilst the rest of my group are still waiting 5 mins later lol

Any good for cycling? My MS Band 1 has stopped syncing to my iPhone unless I delete it and re-pair it every day, which is fast becoming tedious.

I had the opposite with my tomtom runner, it was always over. Mile splits were however always out by a few seconds compared to everyone else.

Can anyone recommend some Bluetooth headphones/headset to go with these? Think the £50 TomTom asking price is a bit steep

so explain why when I ran in half marathon last week, my Samsung pinged a mile exactly next to the road markings of each mile? Literally bang on.....so saying the GPS is useless is a lie, because it isn't, the half marathon I ran was an officially measured one. In fact, the GPS is better than the TomTom in my experience, on TomTom I had to stand waiting up to 3-5 minutes for GPS to find itself, the fit2 is bang straight in there.

As for the HRM, then also please explain why there is absolutely no variability between the TomTom runner and the fit2? The readings when I am running are virtually the same, and it behaves exactly the same as TomTom. There is absolutely no difference between the two, and the sensor is the same in each i.e. the one with the green light.

If you secure the Samsung tightly on your wrist then the readings are spot on, just the same as the the TomTom. Either you had a dud, or you were not putting it on your wrist properly. The fit2 I have is infinitely better than a TomTom runner, and it does a lot more....it looks better, you can wear it all day, track steps, get notifications, has an excellent screen etc - it is on another level to the TomTom runner, and is virtually the same price.

I have a TomTom fitness tracker, the one with the small button that does body composition. Bought it from Very for my own Christmas present and it was great for a bit but every now and then it resets and you have to re-pair it with your phone and just last night it died completely, had to plug it and unplug it from the charger and had to set it up again. Pretty bad reliability so I wouldn't go for anymore TomTom fitness trackers.

Yeah I have called them and they havent been very helpful that number ending 129 goes through to peeps who cant help they transfer you and then no one answers. I have finally m anaged to get osme one to call me but I suspect that when they do they wont be able to help.

I have the Polar M400 and it picks up the satellite quickly as well.

Yep. Brilliant for cycling, you can Bluetooth it up to a separate cadence meter very easily... You can get a handlebar mount for about 14 quid too.

The TomTom Music (no cardio) is only £58 with the code. Probably an even better deal than the original.

There's no such thing, just a Spark and a Spark 3. The watch you ordered is a Spark (1) which is equivalent to a Runner 2... Confused? Me too.

That's a great price... the HRM is pretty much the only reason I bought it though so it's horses for courses n all that I suppose.

I agree with pretty much everything you say, I think the Fit 2 is a lovely looking piece of kit with an awesome screen and functions, it's just the HRM which sucks, you got lucky... Mine struggles to read my heart rate unless I'm not active, it reads my heart rate as 10% higher on average than it actually is, it lags behind the real time heart rate changes, I just can't rely on it (check out the internet it's a very well documented issue with the Samsung HRM).
The Spark has a far better optical sensor, it's 95% as accurate as my chest mount, probably more than that tbh.

I bought a set of Bluetooth Headphones SoundPEATS Q23 from Amazon for £16 & I've not had any problems pairing it with the spark watch.

got the cardio version and love it, replaced my utterly unreliable smart watch 3 for running, this thing is great.

SW 3 is a piece of **** and should never have made the market. GPS on it is a waste of time.

Tomtom are impossible to contact , wanted to change my order for the spark to a runner 2 in captain sky blue but looks like I'm best giving up.

​actually re HRM I think I may be lucky on sizing. the watch fits my wrist pretty much perfectly so has no problems lockingin for a signal. When running I put band up one more notch, so it is tight on wrist, and it picks up signal and stats stable entire run.

After years of running, I pretty much know my different zones, and HR at certain pace and the fit2 literally matches TomTom.

I think you're right though, the success rate of the fit2 will largely be dependant on how well fit2 sits on your wrist, I would say if it's loose you'll struggle with a decent accurate HR signal.

No lol I was looking in the box but I couldn't remember if it was Wiggle or Tredz who did that (did a 1x10 conversion on my mtb last summer so ended up buying lots from both).

Mine arrived today. Great bit of kit. Pairs & works perfectly with my Jabra bluetooth headphones. Much smaller than the original Runner Cardio. Really pleased.

I get really stuttery music when running with it. Kind of like jogging with a CD player. Any fixes?

Supposedly a really common fault due to the BT signal cutting out. Are there any firmware updates you can download?

I had to call Tomtom as my order wasn't progressing.They informed me there was no stock and cancelled my order.

I think I read that some BT headphones get a better connection if the watch is on your left wrist, some on the right. Worth a try?
