sold by tesco & supplied by forest garden and they are selling for £319
bargain for pressure treated shed of this size
forest supply many of the online shed sites.
cheapest for this size would usually be around £300-350.

Yes, the bits you mention are pre-built. Here's a link to the instructions. I don't know about a more suitable material to cover the roof, but my delivery came with what appears to be a roll of standard roofing felt.
You can see on this link to the shed on the Forest website, that they add an extra £135 to the RRP for the shed to be assembled, so this gives an idea of the amount of work involved.

It took me and one other about 3 hours to complete shed, I used some old slabs and an old shed floor for my base to lift 6 inches of the ground.

Just out of interest - presumably you can put the doors (or the wall with the window) on the opposite side when you assemble? - I would have this in a corner, so would need to be able to do this. Is it just a matter of choosing when you assemble it?

Look for plastic shed base on ebay, £2 per sq ft
alexyorks
7 Feb 17#79
I think it would be better with enough space round it to walk well enough to squeeze and re paint/stain it every few years. I would also put on a base for stability and to prevent rot. You could put it on the cheapest of cheap slabs as they will be covered up. My mates put a plastic shed base kit. Really cheap and quick and go direct on grass - just search Google or eBay for shed base kit. I'd always prefer slabs though!!

Those plastic bases seem to be about £60+. You'll need some sort damp proofing to stop the bottom rotting.
FatalSaviour
7 Feb 171#85
I'd recommend that you leave some room on each side for airflow (you don't want either the shed getting damp and prematurely rotting, and if it's a house wall, you certainly don't want to block off airflow!). This will also help when it comes to re-painting/staining the shed.
Similarly, you should have the shed raised off the ground, as this won't be rated for in-ground contact (either some timber bearers, slabs or the plastic bases that have already been mentioned).
Hope this helps!

7 Feb 171#91
You would want the shed floor to be level and stable - if you don't make sure of this, you'll be in for a lot more problems down the line. How you go about achieving this is optional however!
For instance, my current shed (10x10) is supported by concrete blocks at each corner, which sit on a crushed bed of aggregate.
A concrete base is certainly a good way of providing a solid foundation - however, I would expect that some people might consider this overkill for such a cheap shed to begin with (I'm not implying that would be the case).

after I read your post, I go back with my Tesco order no and post code, it shows my booking day on http://www.forestonlineordertracking
(PS do check if tesco direct get your delivery post code in right order, sometime they mix it up)
then I log back to my Tesco direct order page and it marks delivery on 23.02.17 but it is not my booking day!
So I doubt your delivery date is on 23th, I think Tesco just tell you what he/she sees on the screen (as a formal delivery schedule setting to all accounts for such items), if in doubt, may I suggest it is the best to ring/email the delivery company instead. Hope everything works out for you.

Hi, I received my shed on Thursday. One of the chipboard roof panels looks like it's been dropped on its corner with the corner about to fall off, I will be in contact with them. Can anyone confirm what the windows are like please? The description states polycarbonate glazing, I have some really floppy 1mm plastic which looks like I could break it easily. Polycarbonate glazing should be near indestructable? Any help is greatly appreciated
smm87
18 Feb 171#153
it's sounds like we received the same thing for our window as you did. we initially felt it was really flimsy but once assembled it does feel strong and I'm confident that a stone or something similar wouldn't be able to break it if it was thrown at the shed.

First shed has arrived. Looks decent quality for the money. The "glass" is a thin molded sheet of plastic rather like that you get with blister pack of goods. It's an unusual approach, but I reckon it'll do the job OK. A sharp knife would likely cut through it though.
Very friendly and helpful delivery driver.

Ours was delivered this morning, delivery driver was a right grump!!
Moaned that he couldn't park directly outside, so I moved my car creating a space big enough for him to park in, fine so far, then he just stood next to the van saying well I don't know how I'm going to manage this!!
To be fair we live in a cul de sac with a green outside so you have to walk approx 15 metres from the road to our front door & they'd sent 1 man to do what I imagine is a 2 man job.
Luckily my husband had the day off, so was home & able to help, not that he was happy about me offering his services.

Why are you trying to screw them into the roof? Despite the hole they are only designed to add strength to take pressure off the edge of the roof not to be screwed in. Instructions do not make that clear.
Opening post
bargain for pressure treated shed of this size
forest supply many of the online shed sites.
cheapest for this size would usually be around £300-350.

Bought one for my wife and she won't sleep in it!
You can see on this link to the shed on the Forest website, that they add an extra £135 to the RRP for the shed to be assembled, so this gives an idea of the amount of work involved.

heat added
as we really need a new shed
15 year anti rot guarantee
I paid £550 for a 10 x 8 without treatment so this is a great price
Strange that its not sale or discounted.
irrelevant now it seems
Sorry, we don't have enough Timberdale 6x8 Overlap Pressure Treated Apex Shed Double Door items in stock right now. This item (s) has been added to your save for later basket. You can try to purchase this item again by reducing its quantity.
It seems that I do not need to ring up (tesco free phone) for cancellation. Also the page have FAQ so it sounds very helpful.
EDIT - ignore me, says you can do this on the page.
Cheers OP!
This one looks better so ordered it
in stock , and
just completed order
actually I think they do have more stock as I accidentally added 3 to my basket, then had to remove 2
This is cracking deal for what it is!!
fingers crossed now that it turns up
Similarly, you should have the shed raised off the ground, as this won't be rated for in-ground contact (either some timber bearers, slabs or the plastic bases that have already been mentioned).
Hope this helps!
Also would one put in a concrete base for this? (the small flatroof shed installed by our previous owner was installed on sand/paving slabs so subsided)
"Sturdy door braced with double ""Z"" framing for added strength and security. Can be hung on either side."
Just curious, either side of what??
get a text from http://www.forestonlineordertracking, asking to book a date on their website Your text here
On that page, very easy steps : I could choice date from the calendar table (of which already showing all available dates).
The best that I could also type any delivery issue/remarks on the booking too, so far so good.
PS could only book date, not mention any about time slot (eg once amazon surprise me came at 8pm last month! I am not on Prime)

Needless to say it looks like the shed will take a bit of putting together.
There has also been mention of a more suitable material to cover the roof. Would it be possible to post a link to this please?

(PS do check if tesco direct get your delivery post code in right order, sometime they mix it up)
then I log back to my Tesco direct order page and it marks delivery on 23.02.17 but it is not my booking day!
So I doubt your delivery date is on 23th, I think Tesco just tell you what he/she sees on the screen (as a formal delivery schedule setting to all accounts for such items), if in doubt, may I suggest it is the best to ring/email the delivery company instead. Hope everything works out for you.

Very friendly and helpful delivery driver.
