I've stopped at Hinckley island lots of times and as it's just been refurbished there isn't much difference between the executive and normal rooms (other than size). Facilities at Hinckley and sketchley are great, both have pools (kids have to be out by 6 and are quite deep even in the shallow end). Hinckley does have the Marco Pierre white restaurant on site which is pretty good.

I live in Leicester. Here is my feedback on two of the attractions. The best hotel by far is the Marriot. Don't bother with any of the others. The Hilton at Fosse Park is nowhere near the standard you woudl expect for a Hilton. Check reviews on Trip advisor before booking.
Stonehurst Farm - Really nice farm on the same family farm where John's House Restaurant is. The only mitchellin starred restaurant in Leicester. The farm is a cheap day out anyway but go when it's dry and sunny. The restaurant is worth a visit with well behaved kids but book in advance to secure your dates especially at weekends.
Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre - I grew up here - an excellent place to meet new people and get on the water with excellent facilities.
Not included here but worth a visit is Tropical Bird Land with the best part at the end where you can handle all the tame tropical birds in an open area.

Check hotel prices and individual attraction prices seperately before booking this as depending on the hotel price you might be able to book it cheaper individually.

Think it would be quite difficult, looking on the hotel chains own sites, they seem to be £130 - £150 for a weeknight in July & if you chose the 3 highest priced attractions, the tickets would be £168+ ie Tickets to the National Space Centre would cost you £50 for 2 Adults & 2 Children. Tickets to Twycross Zoo would cost a minimum of £58.56 (without donation included in usual entrance price) for 2 Adults & 2 Children Tickets to Twinlakes would cost minimum £59.96 for 2 Adults + 2 Children

we did this last year, stayed at Jurys Inn Hinckley which was spot on and decent breakfast in the morning. We visited Twycross Zoo which the kids enjoyed and then as we live nearby, used the other attraction ticket at Twinlakes later in the year. We have now got annual passes for Twinlakes and are going to the space centre soon and you get a free annual pass when you visit once so probably won't bother with this deal this year as there isn't two other attractions I would want to go to but it is a great deal

Sorry for all the stupid questions; first week back at work after maternit leave and my brain isn't working.
Am I right assuming that i don't need to include my 2 year old and 8 month old in the booking so can just book a standard room for 2A and 2C (me, husband, 5 year old and 3 year old)?
And the booking confirmation we receive presumably has some sort of printable voucher that we just hand to the venues we choose to go to? Live in the NW so hoping to go down to the zoo one day, checkin-in to the hotel that evening and stay, then go and do something else the following day.

It sounds like it. We stayed in Hinckley island with 3 kids, the rooms are massive with 2 double beds and plenty of space for camp beds / cots. I would phone/email and check though. That's right you print your vouchers and hand them in at the attractions. I would recommend twinlakes for the ages of your kids there's plenty of inside and outside fun. We used our tickets there last year the kids loved it. :-)

We stayed at Hinckley Jury's inn which was great. The pool is being out of action until April though so it was a shame we weren't able to use that. Our boys are 5 and 8, and we did Conkers, the zoo and the space centre. Absolute bargain when you add up the entrance for all the attractions and a lovely hotel, we would do it again. It would be great if they did similar offers elsewhere.

We have done this a couple of times. Its well worth the money.Stayed at Hinckley Island and Leicester Hulton. Just check the pool opening times and what time children are allowed in till before you book to see which suits you best if you are going to be using the hotels pool. Also, At the Hilton Leicester I went with my children aged 10,13 and 14 and you are only allowed 2 under 16's in the pool per adult...so we had to tell a little lie and say my son was 16 (it's a good job he's tall). Twin lakes and Twycross zoo are fab...we weren't impressed with the space centre or Stoneleigh family farm..although I do think younger children would enjoy the farm.

Booked the Marriott and going to visit the space center and twycross - you can use your voucher for the 3rd attraction any time up til the end of the year so we can always have a return visit
