I was at Star Wars Celebration last year where these had a whole hall exhibit.
Seeing the Tie Fighters in dog fights with X-wings was pretty cool. The smoke filled room certainly helped show of the laser fire etc.
Having read some reviews, I don't think this price is too bad. £100 and I'll bite though.
as a drone yes, expensive. but it's more of a collector's piece. Box is handmade. has led lights and music play when you lift lid.

Surely people who buy these won't even want to fly them through fear of breaking so it may as well be a static model.
And I am fairly sure companies don't base the cost of their products on the price of the components. That would be silly. They base it on what they think people will pay.

Perhaps - but cheapest ever price and someone might have been waiting for a price drop. Its not about value its about best price currently available and this is cheapest by far...

It is the current best price for this item so I'm gonna heat it but at the same time I completely agree with you. It shouldn't cost as much as it does based on the actual price of the components etc. I have a rather conflicting opinion of this item.
I do think it's pretty cool though. My favourite Star Wars related purchase that I have is my space opera interacting marching figures that I picked up in Japan (they were overpriced as well, but so cool... I'm such a geek :smile: ).
