Although they use Three's network, the network reception is very different between the two. I was on Three, then switched to ID. Reception is 1 bar less than what I had with Three and the Internet speed is a lot slower than Three.

My kids on this deal and I thinks it's the best around at the price point. Only issue is the cap is an extra fiver on top of the monthly charge. Prefer to set at zero.

I thought it was operated by the carphone warehouse, I know it uses the 3 network. I nearly took this deal but read too many stories of slower speeds and poorer signal than 3, so I signed up to 3 themselves, I work in one of the few places where there is no EE coverage indoors. It is a good price for what you get.

same here, and was tempted to switch from plusnet £5 for 1GB but my kids would eat up the 1.5G data and the £5 cap no problem, so I stuck to plusnet with £2 cap and see if they are going to be any better offers around. The only problem is, it seems like the industry is consolidating so there maybe no more new resellers coming on for a while with any decent offers

The 5GB, 500 min sim for £10 is a great deal too.

Have to port your number to a different network closing your account and then sign up to this and port your number back to your new ID account.
Been meaning to do it myself (as I'm paying 7.50 for 1gb) but can't be bothered with the hassle, might just change to the plusnet 1gb (on EE) deal.

I would be interested in the same thing. Seems a heck of a faff to get a cheap sim elsewhere to transfer back. Especially when they sent a message saying the double data on the existing one I pay for was being continued indefinitely a few weeks ago (now I can see why).

I've had this for a year now on the old 1gb deal instead of 1.5gb... in main cities, I get good coverage on 4g, tricky in rural areas though as signal bottoms out.

True, though since reluctantly having to move from IDMobile to GiffGaff for one month last August to do exactly that, I now cannot pass the IDMobile credit check so keep getting knocked back. Indeed, I just failed to qualify for the one month rolling 5GB-for-£10 sim on the other HUKD thread. It's quite pathetic, really.

ID's signal there is no different s to 3 signal i had them for a nearly a year and only left because i got a better deal from 3 which i was with before i went with ID if they come up with a better deal then i am on i would go back to ID.

18 Feb 17#29
Ditto.
Why would the signal be different? They don't have a 3 transmitter and an id-mobile transmitter - it's the same piece of hardware...
Not had to use customer services but web portal fine. Personally I think these are a bargain just as long as you have a decent Three signal in your area.

It's a big difference for me. Was with Three initial and then switched to ID who I've been with over a year. I have Three masts above where I live and would easily get around 20mbs down load, now I get about 5 via ID. Signal bars are also less (using the same phone on both networks).

At the moment Three uses 3 different spectrums and ID only have access to 2 of them, Three uses VoLTE technology which is not available on ID ,that does make a big difference and also bandwidth on ID is very limited compare to Three by itself and why ID is slower !
whatca
18 Feb 171#42
The part about spectrums is nonsense. How would that even work. Do you know anything about how phones work?
Bandwidth will of course be more limited, but the idea that signal strength would be less is tin foil hattage of the highest order

After deciding to go back to EE I've been trying to cancel the ONE MONTH contracts since September 2016. Every month I have to call up asking why they have ignored my request to cancel and I'm fobbed off and have to wait 30 days to see if they have taken notice.

3Gb, 1000mins. £8 per month. I got £58 Topcashback, and £40 amazon voucher from BT. 12 month deal.
So BT pay me £2 over the 12 month contract.

You can but all calls/texts/data will be charged as used. ID mobile do offer the ability to use your allowances abroad but they are called "takeaway plans" and start at £12.50p/m
Three do their feel at home sims called "advanced plans" which includes use in Belgium/Netherlands plus another 40 countries and these start at £7 p/m for a 12 month contract.

It's true that iD don't currently have access to 3s 800 MHz signal but you need to have a 4G VoLTE phone like the Galaxy S7.
Otherwise, you need to use the '3 in touch' app or it doesn't work even on 3.

I think everyone would prefer it be able to be set at zero but they are a business at the end of the day, and even £5+£5 max cap is still reasonable as many providers don't allow capping at all and leave it up to the customer to manage themselves.

It is now sorted via facebook, you have repaid the money I paid after admitting that your Customer Services were wrong and had not deactivated my second sim when requested. ID had sent me a letter saying that you were going to pass the £10 debt to a debt collection agency - I hope that this has not affected my credit rating. It seems that if you want to get action from your ID you have to resort to places like this or social media, your Customer Services team are hopeless. When I said I was leaving their attitude was "ok great, we will disconnect on 18th March - have a nice day and is there anything else I can do for you?"
