I had to buy a new hoover yesterday and this seemed like a good deal to me.
Picked it up today and I'd say better suction than the Dyson

Thanks OP and others for their recommendations - I have a Dyson but it's still working so cannot justify getting a replacement. Handy for future reference that Shark is a good one to get.

We replaced our Dyson for a Shark. Superb Vacuum, can't rate highly enough.
This Shark one has C rating for Carpets and even worse for hard floor for example.

How does this compare to a Henry?

The only major problem with the shark I bought is the lead is too rigid and not long enough. Depending on your carpet it could be very difficult to push. My daughter says the shark is a good work out and saves going to the gym. Not for old and weak people lol. I paid £69.99 for mine from dunelm and it's a similar one as Argos so not a good deal for me but I can recommend the hoover.

Isn't this where DYSON should be price wise. I have the shark 680 and the DYSON dc07. The DYSON does everything well on all floors and is not difficult to push like the shark is however, the suction is better on the shark and about half the price of the nearest DYSON. When DYSON moved his factory to Malaysia it should have reflected in its price. Unfortunately it has not and with other manufacturers offering as good if not better suction then some of these cheaper brands are worth buying.

Heat added. These hoovers are awesome and according to the currys staff they are returned a lot less than Dysons!

Horrible cheap nasty looking vacuum cleaner.Would rather use a henry then one of these and there really noisy.America can keep them.

80 decibels, same as a Dyson according to vacuum wizard. Problem with Henry as they are not an upright cleaner so hardly a good comparison on a like for like basis although I do like the Henry.

Dont waste your money, the inside hoover tube at the bottom split within 7 months. Brought a henry to replace it and is still as good as day one after 1 year.

Bought one of these from Argos a couple of weeks ago for 110 and thought that was a decent price. This is a very good but of kit, quite heavy but versatile and with a 5 year warranty, excellent buy if you're in the market for a new vacuum.

Take those energy ratings with a pinch of salt. Shark do have A and B rated vacuums but to be fair, anything with a motorised brushroll, a rating of D > and a sealed system (like this Shark) will be better than an older vacuum. The Vax might be higher rated but reliability wise they're quite poor and that model isn't versatile, nor is the system even sealed!
