Anyone know if this model has sequential read (540MB/s) and write (520MB/s) speeds? If so then very good deal

Good price, but what's the difference between this link and (other than the price?)
or is it just amazon having multiple pages for the same product

Their argument seems to be: in the absence of a time machine, the price of this item tomorrow or yesterday is entirely irrelevant. The price of this SSD, on this particular day and no other, is the only thing that matters.
It is or course nonsense. We all know it matters when this could be had cheaper not so long ago, and the same money could have bought a drive twice the size last summer.
User benchmarks. Even if this was true there would be no real world difference.

Ever done a SQLIO test or high concurrent connection high transaction test against a disk with this level or difference in random reads? If can make a difference.

You know what happened the last time Crucial released a high performance value drive? They had to take it off the market because despite many sales, the margins were too low for their liking. They replaced it with a rubbish successor called the BX200.
The original drive model was the BX100, one of their best models to date when had at a reasonable price. I haven't had a look at their new MX series as the BX series had everything I needed, I wonder if they've improved much in that regard.

Been waiting 3 weeks for mine to be dispatched. The 500gb version of this hit £80 last summer, a little heart breaking when you're badly in need of one.
Can't say i agree with any of this time machine stuff really. You may get the best price at the moment but there aren't many deals around on SSD's at the moment.
Paid 10 pounds less 2 years ago for same kind of kit

LOL These comments. Can I remind you that Deal = money off RRP, and you can't buy these for cheaper at the moment. This website is used for more than people wanting to buy and sell things for a profit, if this price is the cheapest (and money off RRP  ) then its also useful to know that in Febuary 2017 this SSD was at this price at a low point. Don't be so narrowminded.

Normally it does, as the process move to bigger capacities. Three things have occurred which have caused this issue.
1. Brexit - the pound has lost 15 to 20% of its value - the component industry buys in smaller amounts and so is more prone to price rises. Regardless of your view point on Brexit, this is fact ..
2. Supply of nand chips. You can only make soo many chips from a wafer of silicon, and chip foundries have to make a decision on what type of chips they make, Sram, nand(flash), gpus, cpus etc.
Nands go into ssds, ipods, tablets, usb flash drives and phones, mostly. Many have switched to producing nand chips for phones. So you have supply constraint there and add in that the flash memory for phones is not the same as memory for SSDs you can see serious issues there if you want to switch supply.
3. flash memory prices have also increased on the commodity market. Yes ram(sram/nand) is a commodity, Which means it can make the Brexit effect better or worse than it is already..

Nope!
I don't get why people say they got it for £x last year. If it's cheap today from one specific retailer as compared to the price from other retailers, it's a deal. It's as simple as that.

Is that the cheapest today - yes. Has the 850 evo (regardless of model number) been cheaper - yes. Is it still value for money - no.

Based on where you can buy it today it is a deal. We don't care about what price it was a year ago. We can't go back there and get one.

Ordered on 20 January 2017. Received this email today:
"We’re writing to let you know that the following items have been unexpectedly delayed:
"Samsung 850 EVO MZ-75E250W 250GB Solid State Drive - 5 Year UK Warranty and FFP packaging"
Estimated arrival date: March 01 2017 - March 10 2017
"
If you need this in any sort of reasonable time pay the extra £15. Quite frustrating the prices of SSDs have risen so much. I'd put of buying before christmas thinking there might be a sale over the holiday period. So might have the SSD 10 weeks after I decided to buy it!

I ended up cancelling my order last night but only on the provision that i could carry the £10 BIGTHANKS voucher over onto the new order that was in stock. Had to explain it slowly 6 or 7 times, so the guy cancels it and then seems to disavow all knowledge of the £10 voucher so i had to be put thru to the supervisor almost an hour later and finally got it sorted out. Never talk to them on the phone to sort out problems is my advice! Text chat is best. Anyway, the new in-stock order is saying another week until dispatch. Can't win!
