I don't mind how many spin-offs they make but please Disney, no more death star themes.

I don't know if you've misunderstood what is being said in that quote, but it refers to the previous non-film Star Wars stuff. The whole point was to reset the continuity so that the new films (which are 'in canon') aren't bound by some minor plot point in a spinoff comic that was published in 1998 (or whatever).

I agree about the feelings folk have towards Star Wars. I saw the original releases when they first hit the UK cinemas. The opening scenes of Episode 4, when the cruiser looms overhead are, in my view, the most memorable in my entire cinema "personal history". In the top three along with the whole cinema shared experiences of white shark thrusting from the water in Jaws, (gasps and shrieks across the theatre) and the tear jerker in Love Story (cinema wide sniffs, followed by embarrassed giggles). I watched all three 4,5,6 back to back in one sitting in a cinema after Jedi was released. I have the BR copies of all six Lucas films. In other words, I don't need to be lectured on the value of the "franchise" - loathsome description that it is!

Disney have ruined Star Wars in my view. They have shamelessly monetised it & turned it into something that reeks of opportunism & greed. The films should not even be considered as 'canon' by anyone who loves Star Wars. In fact, Lucasfilms have stated they are not.

And this franchise has enormous sentimental and entertainment value to many, many people. You are entitled to your opinion but why make unhelpful comments which are not in any way helpful regarding the deal?

If we all commented on stuff which we didn't like or weren't in the slightest bit interested in then there would be no point in having comments on deals.:confused:

I hope for the Blu-ray release they cut out the scene where Darth minces onto set with some of the campest hip-wiggling from an intergalactic super villain ever.

anyone having trouble with zoom of late? placed an order for a birthday presents on friday and went for 1st class delivery so it would get here in plenty of time and they have still not dispatched it, placed a order from the ebay store at same time for something else and they have not dispatched that as well and they just ignore any emails i have sent, hope its just a one off (or two off) and they aren't turing into the new zavvi!

The only announced bonus features are the ones listed above unfortunately. I'd be fine without their "test footage" but to not include the bits cut when Disney stepped in is disappointing. Especially when the trailers appear to show very different scenes. The cynical side of me thinks Disney didn't want them included for fear of a backlash (despite Rogue One still being a great film as it is now).

Maybe they plan to sell a Collector's Edition later in the year, including the scenes, once The Last Jedi hits the cinema. :smiley:

My tipping point for blu-rays is still £10 so as usual, I will wait a while

Disappointing that Disney didn't include the deleted scenes on the sets. We all know there are so many from the trailers. Was looking forward to seeing the extra scenes with Darth Vader and how things changed at the end when we see the Tie Fighter vs Jyn and them running along the Scariff beaches amidst the conflict with the Death Star plans.
