Don't get a 4K Bluray player, get a Xbox One S, which has the 4K bluray and so much more to boot like being a full games console and having all the catch up apps and streaming apps. About the same price or cheaper too. No idea why anyone would opt for a standard player when they are both more or less the same price. Only thing I find with my One S is a bit of drive noise when playing the 4K discs, presumably because it has to maintain a very high data rate (50mbps+ I believe). i find it pretty easy to get used to but might bother those hyper sensitive to noise....

Mine came from zoom earlier than expected, and the picture quality is stunning. HDR and 4K, on an LG oled set.

Cant wait for this, will be as good a showcase for 4k as anything yet released. I am a huge fan of these documentaries but have purposely avoided watching this yet because I knew a 4k version would be coming.

This is going to be 4K at it's best - bring it on:
Gears of War, Halo, Dead rising (granted timed release) that does me haha

Granted it's not quite as good as 4K BD but I've compared the two and there's not much in it. Not enough to spend an additional £25 on a BD anyway.

The quality is nowhere near as good.
HDR? HD audio? If not what's the point?

Difference is this was shot in 4K HDR, and isn't been upscaled from 2K like a lot of "4k" Blu Rays. This will look amazing with a 4k proper HDR tv.

Yes, watch The Revenant on Sky Cinema with Sky Q. Stunning in Ultra HD. Great selection of films on there if you're looking for more 4K films.
I was wondering how many discs it was on, so looked it up.
So if anyone's interested it is on two discs. It's RRP on a US site is $49.99.

Will this play on just a standard bluray player? Or do I need a 4k bluray player?

You need a 4k player to play these discs

It comes with the standard Blu Ray too, but to watch it in true 4K, you need a 4K BLU-RAY player in order to get the whole shebang!

But dont you need Gold to use streaming apps??
annoying cause if the servers are down then you cant access anything (more common on PS4)

oops I didn't realise that, thought it was only new customers. Now got about half a dozen Zoom accounts I didn't need to create. Oh well nevermind, even more reason to use Zoom for 4K films apart from getting lucky on eBay, about the only way to get affordable 4K discs....

similar reason I got a ps3. now into oc gaming though but still use my ps3 for netflix etc

Highly tempting. With the 10% off code Zoom are a really good source of (relatively) cheap 4K films. I've got the two huntsman movies, Lucy and the Inferno, Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Box set. Dare I create yet another new account
